Hi all. First post to the Universal boards. Wife and I recently moved to FL and are going to expand our horizons a bit from just doing WDW all the time and head over to UO. For those that have stayed onsite there before- does Loews usually open up rooms at a discount in early Feb? I have read that it is hit or miss- but we are thinking about staying at a deluxe resort to get that front of the line perk so figured I would ask if they do this historically since it is one of the slower times of the year. TIA.

Have you considered an annual pass since you live in state? They are pretty reasonable (a tiny bit more than 4 days)? With an AP you are eligible for APH rates at Loews and they’re pretty substantial discounts.

Right now we are looking at that option since FL resident prices aren't too bad. We wanted to do a 2 park 3 day ticket just to see if we liked it- but a Preferred AP is only about $100.00 more per person- so considering 'rolling the dice' and taking a chance we will like it. Anyways, getting OT.

Right now they have FL resident hotel discounts posted through the holidays- and the price is pretty good. Just need to find out if they will post new rates for winter, and when we can expect them to be posted online. Planning to go from WDW to an offsite hotel close to UO for a night, check in at a UO deluxe at 6 AMish the next morning so we can make EPA that day and the next morning as well, and get the express pass for 2 days as well. Of course, if we get the Preferred AP we will get EE- but would still need to check in early to be able to use express.

They generally release the AP and (I think) FL resident rates about 3-4 months out so February rates should be out fairly soon.
