I was just reading another thread and there was some discussion of some tour busses at the Fort and a pic of a VW bus camper. It reminded me of something we saw at the Fort last year we'd never seen before.

In one of the inner loops, a guy brought his pontoon houseboat on it's trailer to the Fort. It was just his boat with trailer he was using as his travel trailer. Being on the trailer, he had the tallest rig there for sure but hey, you gotta' run what you brung.:thumbsup2

Anyone else see any unusual "setups" at the Fort or any other campgrounds?

I have saw quite a few ood things around here. I saw a school bus being used for a camper. I saw a Dodge Caravan that was "modified" to be a camper. I saw someone try to pull an actual manufactured housing trailer into a campground. That was +/-48 feet of "camper." :lmao:

One year we saw the 1600 loop full of of those little European camper vans, most of them had pulled into the sites rather than backing, now thats a trip - bringing your camper overseas to Disneyworld!

I have seen people use their boats on the trailer, in fact I think someone on here has done it but I cant recall who.

I know someone who has a converted school bus painted up black and white to look like a cow. It is definitely notable!

BigDisneyDaddy, is that you with the guitar in your avatar? That is a nice looking sunburst... what make of guitar is it?

That person with the guitar is my good friend Ms Sundee. I couldnt play a guitar to save my soul, our oldest son is the musician in the family.

I have seen many strange rigs. There was the 40’ ocean cruiser on a trailer that they had to have a 10 wheel tractor to tow. They had a 10’ A frame ladder at the back to climb in the boat. On a recent trip we saw a truck slide in type camper that was built into a utility trailer. I saw a very small popup type trailer towed by a motorcycle. I have seen people using a U-Haul truck as a camper. I have seen several converted school busses. We also saw a couple big rig 10 wheel tractors with sleepers being used as campers including of the biggest KW’s I have ever seen and it was in the 2000 loop.

Many years ago, a group was camping in a U-Haul truck. They were in the site on the 1400 loop that backs up to the Meadows camp fire area- the site closest to the comfort station- so they were very visible. They had the back of the truck rolled up, and had a big old console color TV set up in there. No offense to any race fans, but they were watching NASCAR all weekend. Looks like they were having fun!

I have never seen this again, and I thought maybe Disney had made a rule against it, but I have never seen such a rule, so maybe it could still be done.
