Unused ticket - can we give it away?

We have just returned from a two week trip and unfortunately a member of our party was unable to travel. They had a 14 day uk ultimate ticket which will expire on 15th January 2018. There is no chance that they will travel before that date so we are wondering if they are able to give the ticket away? On MDE there is an option to transfer the ticket so I'm guessing that it can be done but just wondered if anyone had any experience of doing this successfully.

Also, I wouldn't want to break any rules of this site, but would it be allowable to offer the ticket to a member of disbosrds? We aren't looking for any money for it, it just seems a shame for it to go to waste.

I could be wrong, but I believe you must be a UK resident in order to use the pass -- in looking at some of ferrero's previous posts, I don't believe it applies.

If that's the case, you might want to post in the UK trip planning forum.
