He's already earning his keep!??! Impressive, starting em young -- good move there :thumbsup2

Heck yeah! Pretty soon Ill have him running down to the grocery store for me. :lmao: :lmao: I like that little kids enjoy helping around the house. Mikalah likes to sweep... Not that she does any more then whack me with the broom... But she tries! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Alex likes to help me cook. I dont want to raise a kid like my dh. He didnt know how to do ANYTHING because his mom did it for him. She cleaned his room, and did his laundry. At the age of 27!!!:eek: Not my kids!!

I had a childhood friend that didn't have any chores, I asked her about it-- she told me that her parents believe that kids don't need to do the dishes and things until they grow up.. umm isn't it too late by then??

I was in charge of doing laundry for the whole family at age 8, all of us had to help clean and do the chores.

odd, my hubby had to do all sorts of chores and hard labor-- but when his brother got old enouggh.. he didn't have to do anyway. :sad2: He was spoiled and his mom still dotes on him -- just a few years ago she did his laundry for him ( he was in his own apt by then!!)

And she still babies him "oh J didn't get enough to eat.. I'll make him a plate"

uhhh NOT IN MY HOUSE you won't! J here's the dishes, here is the microwave-- go for it! Not our fault that he slept the day away. :mad:

No kidding!! I hate that! I was raised as an only child, and both my parents worked a lot!! I had to come home from school, do my home work, start the laundry, and start dinner... When I was in the 4th grade!! I made dinner every day until I was in high school, and had my own job! Obviously I wasnt a gourmet cook or anything, my mom would tell me what to do, and I would do it. I cant imagine not teaching my kids how to do basic stuff around the house! It is something that really bakes my biscuits.

My dh still finds making top ramen difficult, and that is about as advanced as his cooking skills are. But I have managed to show him how to do the laundry, and vacuum, and the dishes. Basic stuff, but he had no clue what to do! His mom still makes nasty comments about how he shouldnt have to do anything around the house. Because he is a MAN, and he works.. but mostly, because he is a man. I know that I would still get the same stuff, even if I worked full time. :rolleyes: its not like he comes home and does all the cooking and cleaning and taking care of the kids while I sit on my butt watching TV. ;) :lmao: Trust me... it would by nice if he did!:rotfl2: We have a nice balance if things here I think...

Hello!!

This is my drive by HI for the night. I've been getting to bed too late lately, and it's beginning to catch up with me.

Hope everone has a wonderful evening!

Melody:hug:

Ok done with kindergarten round up.

Jake was so cute. They divided the kids up into groups to go with the teachers and Morgan's old teacher (and dizzy's dd's old teacher) made sure Jake got in her group. She knows hes a little shy and she has been around him for a year and a half. We still see her every morning and she gives him a high five.

He was the first one to go right up to the group! She gave him a big hug and said "I'm so excited to see you tonight Jake"

Hi Melody!

How-T! OK, the party can get started now, thanks for waiting. :rotfl:

Sorry, I've been organizing digital photos into a folder, then had DH burn them to CD. I'm making an ABC scrapbook for DS3, so needed to find a photo of him to represent each letter of the alphabet. Surprisingly I found something for all but 4 letters, so I cheated and took quick photos of him:
1. Making a 'shhhh' (finger in front of his mouth) for Q;
2. Standing in a jumping-jacks 'X' for X;
3. Yawning for Y

I realized as DH was burning the CD that I had all the letters except V, then was wracking my brain trying to think what to do. I think I'll take his picture with the vacuum cleaner tomorrow, which will be really funny, because he's scared to death of it. :rotfl:

DS3 has this musical Thomas the Tank Engine book, and he keeps pressing the same button and singing along:

"Kwinkle, kwinkle liddo star
How I wonder what choo are
Up abuh da sole like lights
And a diamond in da heights
Kwinkle, kwinkle liddo star
How I wonder what choo are

And let's sing it just ONE MORE TIME!"

He sang it about 5 times in a row, then exclaimed, "Mama, dass da bess song I ever heard! Don choo juss love it?!"

OMG, he is so funny!!! :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Still?? When Mikalah was smaller, we were at my moms house and brought out the vacuum, because she didnt believe us on how freaked she got about it. OHHHH MAN. It made us laugh just a little. I pulled it out of the closet and Miklalah jumped and crawled just as fast as her little leg could carry her and hid under the table. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: We didnt even turn it on!
