Have some ovaltine then! ;)

all you have to do is hide the chocolate syrup or powder from all of them and then dh will have to come ask you where it is and you can say no way!!! :lmao:

I don't like the banners showing up at the bottom of the DIS. One minute it's a girl in a bikini and the next it's some ad on twin pregnancy. :sad2: :sad2:

Actually, we buy these containers of chocolate milk for their school lunches. (Like the ones they sell at Starbucks.) We get a big box of them at Costco.

I learned the hard way that little boys forget thermoses of milk at school overnight or over holiday weekends. After about 3 ruined thermoses I decided chocolate milk was just fine for lunch. :headache:

Well, of course DS3 wants one even when it's not a school day, and they both want one on the weekends... And since they both can get into the fridge now, it's a struggle to keep them down to 1 a day.

I know, it's really bizarre. Last night when I was having the ipod issue, one ad read: SCORPION RINGTONES! in big fat red letters, it was hilarious!!!

ok so last night tiffany registered online for that pharmacy tech class and my aunt was going to go down this afternoon and pay for it...the class starts sat. after next and will go for 6 months...then do a 3 mo internship and hopefully be able to get a job right after that...Im taking her down there probably mid week next week and will stay for a few days me thinks...have a change of scenery and then also get to go to chik fil a yum!!!

I am confused because both of my kids went to that school last year. I guess I don't remember how bad it was, or didn't hang out there often enough :rolleyes1

I know AZ passed a law a couple of years back mandating full day kindergarten, and last year was the first year of partial implementation (offering I think only one or two classes, and pulling only those kids who had signed up to "pay" for full day anyways)

Anyways, I hope it all works out for her. I agree that they should have annexed the district a couple of years back, but Higley fought to maintain the schools (they merged/dissolved the town, but not the schools :confused3 )

Dizzy, remember last year how they had 6 half day classes. 3 morning 3 night? Well this year they have 1 morning that's it. Next year they are saying they might not have any half day OR if they do it may not be at our home school. So like IF they do offer half day we might have to drive to one of the other district schools to get it. :sad1: They said they wont know til about June when or if they will have half day. Its all very frustrating. I dont understand how it could have changed so fast.

Alex, I understand your point on trying to get the kids ahead but the kindergarten teachers I've talked to at her school say that they are teaching the same number of hours 2:15 but spread over the whole school day. Meaning they have a lot of recesses, a lunch, a quiet/nap time and several unstructured play times. If they had more teaching time then I would consider it but they do not mandate it here. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I cant catch up anymore and I have to run but I wanted to tell dizzy what had changed so quickly since she wasnt here this year.

Ok talk to you all later. I'll catch up tonight1 Hope all is well.

Lynn, so she'll be living away from you, right? Is that with your aunt then? GEESH, your aunt is amazing, is she like a grandmother to Tiffany? She really sounds awesome! Is this the same aunt that helped G find an apartment?

I asked when I was registering DS7 for kindergarten. They said then that it was the same material presented, but the all-day kids would get more exposure to it, and they also had more time for activities (crafts and stuff, I presume) as well as more specialty kinds of things, like classroom guest speakers and that sort of thing.

And all that made sense for DS7, who had been used to being at the Montessori school/daycare 10 hours a day. Now he'd be in school only 6.5 hours, already a much shorter day.

I don't know why I'm leaning toward the same for DS3. I guess I worry that maybe he's a little behind with the numbers and letters identification, he has problems learning his colors because of the color blindness, and I guess I feel like I want to give him more opportunity, more exposure to the material, you know? He's a smart kid, and I know I shouldn't be comparing him to other kids, I just so want the boys to love reading and love learning, and I worry about that.

I have no idea if that makes a lick of sense! :rotfl:

the one and the same:thumbsup2 yes she very much is like tiffs grandma and my mom...she never had kids..shes been with my uncle for years ...since I was little but he had been previously married with 9 kids and when she got involved with my uncle his youngest was younger than me by a few years and I have lived out here by her since I was 18 and Tiff is actually the only child she has been around their whole life and watch them grow to adulthood...when my mother, her youngest sister died 6 years ago, she stepped up and pretty much took over that role....

Awww, she sounds really sweet, Lynn. :goodvibes

We didn't live near family growing up, so we saw grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins when we went to the Midwest every 4 years or so. DH didn't live near his grandparents or extended family until he was around 14, but before that his mom would send him to spend summers with his grandparents, so he was always very close to them. :lovestruc

Good afternoon! What's new?

I woke up with a head ache. I took some of the Ibuprofen that my Dr. gave me... Now Im better. I made bean soup with our left over ham. Did the dishes, vacuumed. The usual.
