It's a well known fact that you must clean before the cleaning lady gets there.

Actually I want her to "clean" not try to clean around our stuff. So I make sure that everything is put away. Then she can concentrate on cleaning instead of trying to put everyone's stuff away. Since she would probably not know where half of it goes anyway. She comes in and cleans the bathrooms, vacuums, changes sheets, dusts, sweeps & mops the floors. Plus she does a little laundry and will do the dishes or empty the dishwasher.

I know it sounds strange, but there is a method to my madness.




It's ok Staley, we've all been emotionally scarred for life by catching parents at one time or another!

We used to have an aquarium for many years - until I finally came to my senses and sent it off to the dump! Lots of work. Are you doing the 25% water change every week? Are you overfeeding? I used to take about a 2 quart pitcher full of water out of my tank every couple of days and added fresh then it stayed much cleaner. Then it became virtually effortless after I got rid of it!!!!

We just got it a couple of days ago, so we havent changed the water at all yet. The lady at the pet store said it was normal after just putting the fish in. They are just getting the bacteria level right, or something. She said after a week or so the water will clear, and they seem to be doing well.. So far. Alex came into my room this morning, and told me that googly eyes looks tired.. So I ran out of my room to check and make sure that he wasnt "sleeping" upside down on the top of the tank! But all is well, and he is swimming like a fishy should!

Yeah... i still remember being traumatized by my parents when I was 5. But alas.. I have no long lasting damage from it! Thankfully, Mikalah is only 2, and thinks her dad was choking me.

DH wants me to try something out to fix it, so I'm going to do that in a few minutes.

No.. they werent hardly in it at all. It had the kid from Malcolm in the Middle in it.. I dont know... I wasnt paying close enough attention, so I just didnt get what was going on.

Yeah!! last weeks episode! They caught the guy that did it, and the little blond chick shot him. It was VERY COOL. Dh was home, so he watched it with me!

How's the tummy today? I'm pretty sure I'm getting a sinus infection, so as soon as DS3 wakes up I'm going to give the neti pot a try.

thats how I am with most of my shows I normally watch, darn all this dissing.. Making me miss out on TV!

Im still queasy.. A few nights ago, Mikalah was in the living room screaming her head off at 4am, so I ran in there and got so sick I almost barfed on he head! Its just been really mild, every once in a while I feel a little queasy. Dunno.
What does a neti pot do? Or do I want to know?

What does a neti pot do? Or do I want to know?

It flushes the sinus cavities. Basically, you pour a salt solution (not regular table salt, I guess, it comes in special little packets) into distilled water and heat it to body temp. Then use the neti pot (specially designed to make it easy to pour into your nostril) in one side, and the water drains out the other side. Then you blow your nose to get any remaining water (or other stuff) out.

It's supposed to be really good for preventing/getting rid of sinus infections, as opposed to using antibiotics. I seem to get an infection every single time I get a cold these days, so I'm getting worried about being on antibiotics through most of the winter.

Still... I've had the darn thing for a couple months now, and have been too chicken to try it out. I watched a woman use it on Oprah, and it looked easy, she said it didn't hurt at all and was so simple, the doc recommended it as a good general maintenance kind of thing... And I still can't make myself do it.

I figured I'd do it when there was a problem. Hence today.

I was just downstairs monkeying with the laptop, and it's still without the internet. I tried six ways to Sunday to get the darn thing connected, and it's being stubborn.

So I guess DH will have to take a look when he gets home.

We are getting a new car, just not sure when it will get here. We want a RAV4 (black, with specific features.) Went to the local dealer, who said they had one. They didn't, and they tried to get us to buy a different one they had on the lot. We asked if it was possible to order exactly the one we wanted; they said no.

So DH starts searching on the internet, and finds a dealer in Seattle that says they have one, so we make an appointment to go look. We get there (hauling 2 small children along), and the guy looks for it, then checks their books and finds out it was sold the previous day. Then tries to interest us in another one they have on the lot. We ask if they'll be getting another one like we want, and he says it's unlikely, the ones with 3rd row seat are popular, and disappear as soon as they come in. We ask if it's possible to order one; he says yes, but says he can just call us as soon as another one comes in. So we wait...

Staley gave me the name of a guy in Tacoma they really liked, so we finally contacted him. He looks in the local area/can't find one, looks in the whole region/can't find one, and says it's unlikely we'll get one because for some reason Toyota doesn't send very many RAV4s with 3rd row seat to this region! He suggests we order one, and if one comes in beforehand, we can get it sooner.

So we ordered, and now are waiting impatiently. It can take up to 3 months, I guess...

Dh got a brochure for a FJ cruiser, and he told dh to just bring in the matrix, and he will go ahead and switch us over. NOT!! We havent even had it for a year yet!!! Speaking of... Its time to get ole Mattie in for an oil change.

Man... it is COLD outside!! I have 36 degrees here!

Dh isnt going to be home in time to take Alex to the bus tomorrow, so I had to tell Alex to wake me up to take him to the bus stop! How sad is that? He wakes up like clockwork in the morning, and has to drag MY butt out of bed! I went in his room to lay Mikalah down, around 8, and he was snoring away.. didnt even wake up when I turned on the light, and stood on his bed to check the bulb!

OMG!!! They have found a link between working graveyard, and getting cancer. That is very odd.. I wouldnt have thought that your shift would do that.
