Good morning, hyenas!
Yet another incredibly gorgeous, sunny fall day in Seattle.
What the heck is going on???
Congratulations, Dizzy, I bet that is a huge relief to you! One more day and then it's a done deal. Then just a bit more clean-up, and your fresh start is complete!
My little munchkins are both in school, at least for another hour. I just did some work for DS7's teacher and got to see him for a few minutes after recess. We could have left the house that morning with me nagging and him whining or complaining, and him giving me a reluctant hug as he leaves to walk into class. Then I walk into his classroom a half hour later and suddenly he's just beaming at me! I don't know why he enjoys that so, but he does. And I love feeling like the hero for a change.
DS3 is totally comfortable in his preschool class now. As soon as he puts his backpack and coat away and I take him to the bathroom (he's still potty-training), I sometimes get a hug before he takes off to find an activity or a friend. Still, it's nice to see him so happy there, those first few days were so rough! And I do get a big smile and hug when I pick him up, and he tells me all about his big day:
DS3: Mama, I push Jordan back.
Me: You pushed Jordan? Why?
DS3: Because she's crying.
Me: She's crying? And then you pushed her???
DS3: Yeah. And we eat cupcakes.
Me: Oh, you had cupcakes? Who brought the cupcakes?
DS3: Jordan's mommy. It Jordan's birfday.
Last week he told me he doesn't like Jordan. I asked why and he said, "Because he's mean." Jordan is a boy? Or a girl? And mean? I'm guessing since he talks about him/her now (and he doesn't talk about anyone else), that they're either buddies or they don't get along.
So there's this adorable little girl who comes to greet him every day when we walk in. She eyes him shyly and giggles, and he giggles back. Today there was a piece of artwork on the floor, and I asked if it was hers. She said no, and I noticed the name on it, and asked, "Are you Jordan?" She said yes, and I said, "Well, this has your name on it, so I guess it IS yours. Shall we put it on the shelf so you can take it home?" Soooo, Jordan is
this cute little girl! Awwwww!
