Good afternoon, hyenas!
Not raining at the moment, and that's saying something! UFF, have we had rain the past 2 days!!!

Yesterday morning DS3 and I went to the next town over to do a bit of shopping. I took back roads, and got stuck in a back-up on the way because the main intersection through downtown was flooded. Finally made it through there, went to Target and then Barnes and Noble (DS3 was being a pill, BTW), then skipped going to the last stop because of DS3. I took a different route home thinking it would be easier, but that was a mistake; traffic was backed up EVERYWHERE, and it took about 40 minutes to get home (it would normally take about 10.)

Later that afternoon rush hour was a complete mess with major road closures and commute times in hours.

Dang it, I seem to be off schedule from everyone else these days.

Staley, had to read back several pages to see what the fuss was about. Sorry you have more stress in your life, but hopefully it will turn out to be for the best; either you can persuade him to give up his rights, or he'll stick around and be involved (and do his part financially.)

How exciting! I have an awesome recipe for Persian Squares if you need it. They are so tasty they almost caused a riot the first time I sent them to work with dh! I do holiday bread, persian sqrs., fudge, peanut butter balls, and sugar cookies the kids decorate! Its a HUGE hit with the guys!

DS3 just woke and is in my lap. He seems to want to rough-house!

So I'm tickling him and he's squirming and squealing. He just told me a few minutes ago, "Mama, I nee' go a work." I asked "Really?" and he said sadly, "Yaaaah. I gahhh drive. And den I walk. Yahhhh. Dat's wha' I gahhh do." I guess this is how DH and I talk when DH has to unexpectedly go into the office? He's such a little nut!

I'm just finishing up my break but wanted to say a quick hello to you all. I ran to Starbucks and got a Strawberries & Creme' and a chop chop salad. Yumm!!! Haven't had this for a while.

Very busy at work today. Despite being sick yesterday, I was able to catch up with all of my work. Oh and we have a visitor who works for us and he used my computer yesterday. Now I have a bunch of pop-ups! I tried to remove it through a spyware removal program but they still keep showing up. I'm going to have to contact our IT guy. He also messed up the screen resolution on my PC and that took awhile to adjust it back to normal. He used another employee's PC and he screwed that up too.

staley whats in the persian squares?

They are super Tasty!! Here is the recipe.

PERSIAN SQUARES

1 cup coconut
2 cup graham cracker, crushed
½ cup chopped nuts

In double boiler put ¼ lb butter (or oleo), ¼ cup sugar, 4 Tbsp cocoa, 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Mix with above ingredients (with hand), spread into 9X9 pan or 8X8 pan.

Melt ¼ lb butter (or oleo),
add 2 cups powdered sugar,
2 Tbsp milk,
2 Tbsp instant vanilla pudding (dry mix)

Spread on top of first mixture, place in refrigerator for 1 hour or more.

Melt 1 package (1 cup) of chocolate chips in double broiler with
2 Tbsp butter (or oleo) to a smooth consistency. Spread on top of above mixtures.

Cut in to small squares ½ to 1 inch squares after sitting in refrigerator for a while. Watch to make sure it is not too hard before cutting.

Hi! Oh ya, it rained alot! I live down a dirt road and it was very squishy! Luckly I didn't get stuck. Yep, my mom and I are signed up for the Ladies Trip. I'm really excited to meet all of you! My mom thinks it's a little stange. She said to me "Do we have to hang around with these strangers the whole weekend?" I told her that you guys aren't strangers!

Perhaps I can bring along my DD and she can hang with your Mom. That was her exact response! She's still not convinced that you guys aren't all pedophile ax murderer's!

I got exactly the same resonse from my Sis!! Then she actully asked me if I was sure they were all women? What???? Well maybe some might be in disguise?? Too funny! But she is alot of fun, and loves Disney too. So she will have to meet all of my wierd internet friends and live with it!!

Hey Megan! Just wanted to give you a bit of advice from a child of divorced parents. My dad never paid child support, only acknowledged that we were alive when my grandmother called him every summer and made him take us to Disneyland and visit while we were in Calif. He only came to WA twice I think during my childhood to visit us.

My mother always let us make our own decision about him, never bad mouthed him in front of us. I thank her so much for doing that, it left me free to form my own opinion about him. For a long time I didn't want anything to do with him. Then when I was 17 my younger sister decided she wanted to go live with him. We ended up "speaking" on the phone a few times. Slowly I let him into my life. When I had my mastectomy he hopped on a plane and was there along with my husband when they wheeled me into the operating room and again when I woke up. He has since apologized to me for being a (his words) Crappy Father! I still have some bitter feelings towards him, but I have to give him a chance because he is trying to make things better. My mother always said that one day he would realize what he was missing, she was right. I had a wonderful stepfather that raised me. To me he is still "My Dad". But I am now lucky because I have 2 fathers that love me.

I'm not saying to just let him walk all over you and do whatever he wants. But no matter if Frelan adopts Alex, he will always know that he has another father out there and don't be surprised if he wants to have a relationship with him someday, even if you don't approve. My Dad is living proof that people can change, even if it takes them 20 years!

Now are you ready for my Kidnapped story??

When I was about 2 years old my Dad came to visit me. We then lived in California and my Dad said I need to go to the store to get a pack of cigarettes. He then asked my Mom if she wanted anything, sure she said, get me a bottle of Coke. He picked me up and said he was taking me along also. It was on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm.

Well about 30 minutes passed and my Mom started getting worried, then an hour and she headed to the store. No they hadn't seen us. She called his Mother, who whispered into the phone, yes, he is here with Alison and says he's going to be raising her now. My Mom was ready to come over and grab me back, but her and my Grandmother hatched a plan to teach him a lesson.

My grandmother told him, I'll babysit for 2 weeks, but then you'll have to hire your own babysitter while you're at work. Little did he know the my Mom came over and picked me up every day! Then she brought me back every evening before he returned home from work. My grandmother refused to babysit for him while he went out with his buddies or on dates. In other words, she made it quite miserable for him!

Exactly 2 weeks later, on a Sunday afternoon at 2:15 pm he returned me. Handed my mother a bottle of Coke, took a cigarette out of his pack and acted like he had only been gone for 15 minutes! My Mom acted like nothing was wrong, he visited for about a half hour and then left. Nothing was ever said about it again and my face was never featured on a milk carton!

so i drove 45 minutes to get to the nearest disney store, and they don't do "it"
so now i haveta figure out a way to do "it" online without my mom finding out

i took her card so she can't do it herself haha

i have a feeling i'm ganna haveta tell her tho cos she'll end up finding out somethin weird is goin on. ehhh

Thanks Alison. We have figured that we are going to start slowly. If he can prove to me that he can call on schedule For a while, I will let him start talking to Alex. If he can keep up with regular phone calls... Then I will let him see Alex. I dont think we are going to have anything to worry about, I doubt this will last the month. He will call once or twice, then fade away like always. We only talk about Alex's dad when he isnt around. If he wants... he can ask whatever he wants about him. Alex isnt stupid, he will see what an *** his father is.

Do you mean to tell me you can cook something this complicated, but can't cook a turkey?! This recipe is about 10 times harder than cooking a turkey.

Hello Anonymous Person that we don't know! I just got my first AP this year so I have no idea. I remember everyone telling you how to renew. But I know that some Disney Stores are not owned by Disney anymore, so maybe that has something to do with it. Sorry I can't help, I'm not an expert in that field. But I know someone else can figure it out for you Anonymous Person! Happy Holidays!!

OMG!! That is soo funny!

I have one of my own.. It didnt last very long, but I was pg with Mikalah, and having wicked contractions because I was so stressed.

Soooo... when Alex was almost 3, it was right after christmas. My birthday in fact. James had wanted to take Alex for his little CHristmas thing. Whatever.. Okay. He picks him up, and tells me that he will bring him home the next afternoon. Okay.. The next afternoon comes, nothing.. evening... night... I was freaking out, dh called into work, and we went looking for them. Couldnt contact them, nothing. He wasnt home, he (obviously) didnt go to work. I sat up all night waiting. Crying, and waiting. We were going to call the police at 7 am if they werent back. I was dialing the phone when he pulled. He said.. I told you that I *might* keep him another night. NO... NO you didnt. It when on from there, but needless to say.... another nail in the coffin.

I think that's a good idea. At least he tries to make an effort to see him at times, even if sporadic, at least it's something. I need to head out now it's 5pm, I'll probably talk to you later!
