I'll give the recipe. Warning...........it is not calorie free that's for sure.
Corn Casserole
1 (15 oz.) can whole corn
1 (15oz.) can creamed corn
1 (8oz.) package corn muffin mix (recommended: Jiffy)
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup ( 1 stick) butter, melted
1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350*
In a large bowl, stir together the 2 cans of corn, muffin mix, sour cream, and melted butter. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and top with cheese. Return to oven for 5 to 10 minutes, or until cheese has melted. Let stand for 5 minutes and serve warm.
This is a recipe from Paula Deen on the Food Network. Yum!
I have something similar but it is a corn pudding which is very much from the south...my family on my moms side is all from GA...up in the mountains...
it uses 5 eggs
18 oz of sweet corm drained
14 oz of canned creamed corn
1 1/3 C whole milk
1 1/2 C heavy cream
1/3 C flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
beat eggs first then add the remaining ingredients...put it in a 12x10 buttered pan and bake for about an hour at 375º...
