That's cool about Andrea.. glad she could find a job that works out for her..... but ummm what are we talking about here Lynn???

Is not going to DL???

I always told my mom "I don't need a wedding, I'm going to elope, less hassle"

Instead my father ("I won't be alive in Spring") demanded a wedding in the fall.

I had them plan it, I showed up with E. We did the stroll down the airsle, said the words and had a light luncheon/ cake at my Aunt's house.
I had no say whatsoever in cake, colors, vows, location.

I picked my dress (ummm maternity dress, I felt J move for the first time as we walked down the aisle) , mentioned that it was a ruby red color to my mom.. she paid for silk flowers and a cake (family friend made it) that matched.
15 years later, I wouldn't mind having a "real" wedding just for me and hubby to enjoy. Then again, it's too dang expensive!!!

We got hitched in Vegas... I picked the hotel/casino... Picked the package.. Called, paid, and showed up!:thumbsup2 My mom handled the reception, again, very easy! We ate at the buffet at the casino!:lmao: Had a cake no one ate, and some champagne dh finished off on our wedding night. AFTER we went to the casino, and he got 2 HUGE tumblers full of tequila. The guy at the bar we were at found out about our wedding, and instead of giving him the ONE shot he asked for, just filled up TWO HUGE cups for him..:sad2: Oyyyy.... That was one FUN wedding night!:lmao:

We went to Reno to get married. Got into town on the 1st, got our marriage license and then got married on July 4th. I grabbed the yellow pages that morning, called and made an appointment at noon! Life was good, no stress and no money wasted on a huge wedding! It must have worked ok, here we are 18 years later!

actually alison....it was one of her demands in accepting the position...and they just ran to install it right then :rolleyes2

Oh good, I'm glad to hear that she has her priorities straight and starts out with them knowing who's in charge!:lmao:

ahhh, but the wedding is for "them" not for yourself.
My parents were happy , so I was happy enough to show up and get it over with :lmao:

Aint that the truth! My mom was more excited then I was... :sad2: Ah well... Everyone had a good time.

:lmao: I think it's funny that three of us had "no- frills" weddings. :rotfl2:

We were meant to meet and become the hyena friends that we are.. kindred souls???

Dude, you've been watching way too much Anne of Green Gables!:lmao:

I'm just hoping that drunk lady with missing teeth that was wearing a yellow see through dress and no bra at the wedding chapel that got married just ahead of me doesn't join the Hyenas!!:scared1: :scared1:

awwwww, that sucks.

There was only one single girl at my wedding, that was my brother's girlfriend. So I threw my bouquet to her. It worked like a charm!! She dumped my brother and married some other poor guy a few months later! My brother still thanks me for that one!:thumbsup2

Of course you should have seen the mortified look on my mother's face when she caught the flowers. My brother was only 18 at the time and this girl was not exactly anyone's favorite person. My mother said, what do you think you are trying to do?? Then a few months later, even she admited that the Lord works in mysterious ways!:rotfl:

I used to love Anne of Green Gables also. Until DD (about 5 at the time) HAD to have them for Xmas. We got the entire set of movies for her and watched them over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over & over......

I just gave them away to some of DH's cousin's kids a few months ago.

:lmao: :lmao: I didnt throw mine... there were strict "RULES" at our chapel.. No flower throwing allowed!:lmao: Then in the buffet I thought it would be a tad inappropriate...what with people eating and all!:lmao:

I think most marriages end in divorce because couples rush into it so quickly. Sometimes they don't have a choice (pressure from family members) or maybe it's a cultural thing. :confused3 I read that the divorce rate was 60% but just recently started to go down a little because people are waiting.
