Lynn, my sister went through a (medically) rough time a few years ago. She has a form of vasculitis (where the immune system attacks healthy cells of the body), and the treatment involves chemo and steroids and lots of other meds. Fortunately for her they caught it early, the form she has isn't usually caught until it reaches the internal organs and by then it's too late to do anything.

Anyway, so she developed diabetes (and gained a lot of weight) because of the Prednisone, but I think she's finally off the Prednisone, done with chemo, just has to take a boatload of pills. I don't think they ever consider her free of the disease, she will always have to take certain meds, you just sort of hope it doesn't get any worse.

When she first got it I researched on the internet, then freaked out because the life expectancy was very low! But of course since they don't normally catch it until too late, it would be. But she's doing well under the circumstances, and while I still don't know what her life expectancy is, she's holding her own, and I think more appreciative of life in general, ya know?

yes I do:goodvibes

Mikalah is still napping!:woohoo: When they went to lay down, dh was chillin on the puter, and Mikalah was fussing at him. "Do you want to go to bed??" She looked at him, and yelled back "YES!!!!" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: No wonder she was fussing at him! So he picked her up to take her to bed... I poo-poo.. Sure did!:lmao: She is soo funny.:lmao:
DS3 still has yet to poop in the toilet. In the evening he asks for a diaper, and if it's near bedtime, I just put one on him. Not 5 minutes later he'll tell me or Daddy, "I poo-poo." I have to get some sort of prize that he can have if he puts his poop in the potty...

Get bizzy... :rolleyes1

Im TRYING!!! our life is NOT conducive to baby making!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: But I think we might have actually hit on an ovulation day this time... So heres hoping! We arent actively trying, I think just not trying to prevent it.... But i think if we are actually PG, it will be alot more incentive to move out of this DUMP... Instead of just talking about it!:lmao:

Dang kids anyway, getting in the way of babymakin'... :rotfl:

GEESH, again with the woodchipper!

Cut off all the limbs/whole tree and THEN chip it all, why don't ya? They turn the thing on (IT'S VERY LOUD!), then turn it off. Then turn it on, then turn it off. Then turn it on, then turn it off. No chance that DS3 will get a decent nap today. :sad2:

im just looking at some old clips of the show on you tube...I loved them...I had 3 of their albums and the dolls:rotfl:
My parents loved watching variety shows. Do you remember the Sonny & Cher show? He always seemed like a bumbling, mushy dork and she the whip-smart, slightly *****y talent of the duo. I thought it was funny that she said he wrote all the skits and stuff, it was all an act. :rotfl:

They must have been on at 8:00, otherwise I wouldn't have seen them. :confused3

Now you've got me curious, I wonder when the show aired?

ETA: Love Wikipedia!!!

Their first show ended in 1974 when they were separating. They remained friends and took a 2nd shot at a show in 1976 - 78, but variety shows died out when SCTV and Saturday Night Live came around. Very interesting!

ds3 is up now. I don't think he slept at all, but he's definitely done with bed, darn it!

So I've got to go. I hope you're doing OK, Lynn, and do let me know what you find out next week.

Hello! I doubt anyone is here but I must pop on because I know you guys will understand. I'm suffering from PMS, and I just found out some guy at work whined about dh because dh stood up to and refused to be given work on something that wasn't in his department. So I got livid that people at dh's work don't think he's a genius like they did in Canada. Dh assures me it's just a matter of time and he has to go through the new guy syndrome. Well I was so mad that I turned into a crazy person and started swearing and then laughing uncontrollably until my face turned red and then I got embarrassed and I wanted to cry. I just want to go home but I'm sure things will get better soon.

I am severely anemic and the doctor thinks I may have lupus...I dont know how much you know about it but it is a disease where your own body attacks your immune system and internal organs...

yes I am taking iron...and no there is no cure...If I have it I will die....not trying to be dumb here but thats what happens...I have a 95% chance of living over 5 yrs and 70% up to 20 yrs...however, being that my kidneys arent good because of my diabetes, the attack will speed up on them at least...:sad1:

I will know more next week...I have an appt on the 5th so we will see...in the meantime I am going to take the iron pills and see if that doesnt help me with being anemic...

thanks alex and yes you are right ...the symptoms that come and go they call flare ups...Im hoping that all will be ok and Im just anemic is all...I need to go to DL...seriously...like right now...Im just hoping that Im still going to be able to go at the end of next month...I dont know how much out of pocket this is going to entail and I havent been able to work much these last few months and Im trying to figure out how to pay stuff before they turn it all off...:confused3

OH CRAP!
That totally sucks Lynn.
Hope you get some real answers at your next appointment.
Keep your employer infomred about the health stuff, you might qualify for things like short term disability or donations of sick time if you need it.
It's sucky to lose insurance, Eloy is fortunate that he automatically gets Medicare as someone with kidney failure. Paying the deductible and the percentage not covered is crappy though.
OK, something to think about down the road.. if it becomes time that you can't work then file for SSDI. AND as a disabled person you CAN work as long as it's not "gainful employement" -- as in it has to be under a certain dollar amt. THEN you can qualify for Medi- CAL as an employed disabled person (fedderally mandated program), you basically pay a sliding scale fee to get full medical coverage.
It's all stupid I know, ya gotta be poor to get medical care.. but you end up poor becuase you can't afford medical care.

This is why we need Universal Health Care coverage!!

anyway, let us know how it goes.

I miss you !!
