Hospital discharge instructions said no driving.

Well I just kissed him as he went out the door to drive to dialysis.

I aksed him over and over.. are you sure? are you sure?? are u ok???

yes, yes, YES!

sniffle sniffle.. ok but don't kill yourself or anyone.

earlier I tease him that he can't get killed yet , he only has the freebie life insurance from work so far (only $5000 coverage).. and hasn't signed up for the extra life insurance.

Told him it wasn't enough, 5,000 was just enought to cremate his butt.

I know, poor humor. But ya gotta laugh or go crazy... which is better?

  :lmao: :thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: You know... Thats what i told dh after my dad died. We only have what his work gives for free. Which is one years income... and if they go off base pay, thats almost nothing!! We are looking into getting more. :thumbsup2 We have to joke about things like this. I know in my family, its the only way we get through! My sister and I spent the whole week in Reno after my dad died making jokes about it.:sad2: But hey, it got us through the week!

bumer about the life insurance. Hubby can purchsae into a chunk thru the union, he can't go above a certain amt without all the health questions.

Answer the questions = get denied.

I worry about that for me too, one less kidney means some life insurance comanies will consider me high risk.. it really doesn't. I was told by the transplant team that two kidneys vs one kidney would only buy me three more months if I ever went into renal failure.
Three months is a bargain considering it gave hubby three years of healthy peeing ability

:lmao: yeah... my sisters dh is the same way. He has some heart issues, and had lesions on his brain a few years back that he almost died from. We were also talking about getting some for myself, I had never thought of that before. I saw it on the dis boards somewhere, and thought it was a good idea!

:goodvibes :goodvibes here's some tidbits about laughter...

“When we laugh, natural killer cells which destroy tumours and viruses increase, along with Gamma-interferon (a disease-fighting protein), T-cells (important for our immune system) and B-cells (which make disease-fighting antibodies). As well as lowering blood pressure, laughter increases oxygen in the blood, which also encourages healing.” "Science of Laughter” Discovery Health Website

“Without humor one's thought processes are likely to become stuck and narrowly focused leading to increased distress.” Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor

“Laughter is very powerful medicine. It can lower stress, dissolve anger and unite families in their resolve to overcome troubled times.” University of Nebraska

"Nothing is good or bad. It is thinking that makes it so." Shakespeare

“By the time a child reaches nursery school, he or she will laugh about 300 times a day. Adults laugh an average of 17 times a day.” “Science of Laughter” Discovery Health

Laughter is the shortest distance between two people.
Humor unites us, especially when we laugh together.
Laughter heals.
Laughs and smiles are enjoyed best when shared with others.
To laugh or not to laugh is your choice.

How very cool! It looks like its time for me to start laughing more. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Okay... I have to go. Mikalah is stinking up the house!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Talk to you later Bernice!

we're lucky that a higher amount is offered, he needs to sign up before he's worked 120 days. Then he can't get the higher amt.

I had really insurance pkg when I worked with Head Start, it's why I would prefer working in large company. The smaller child care centers can't afford benefits and try to keep ya part time.
Head Start here is operated by the school district, which is why there were no job openings this year.. no one wants to leave

hmm, an adult laughs an average of 17 times a day.. how sad is that?
Think of the grumpy people who laugh even less... c'mon people LAUGH!!!!!

:goodvibes

GEESH, I just tried a post and got totally hung up!

I saw your earlier conversation; we also got life insurance on me; enough that DH would be able to pay for daycare and other misc. expenses should anything happen to me. DH has trouble getting life insurance, too, because of the heart problems. Our financial planner advised getting the life insurance offered by an employer if he ever changes jobs, and to get the max amount without having to fill out the forms.

Very cool. We are going to look into it when we get home.

My inlaws e-mailed us today.... :headache: They want us to come visit them in March.. Only trouble is, they live in GERMANY!!! Yeah... thats not gonna happen! I told dh he can go by himself, but I cant take Alex. We are going to have one heck of a time trying to get Alex a passport.... I have to have a notarized statement from his dad to get one, then one everytime we take him out of the country. Since we have NO idea where his dad is, that is a little tricky! And there is NO way he is taking Mikalah out of the country without me! She would FREAK!!! Its not that I dont trust him... but when i was in Reno for a week... the kids ate crap the whole time, and never had a bath! :sad2: Yeah... not gonna happen! Besides, Mikalah is way to attached to me, to go away for so long.

Would they consider visiting here? (Are they German, or American?)

Yeah... But it costs them alot more to come here. They have to pay hotel, and then go visit his family in Colorado. Plus... dh, makes ALOT more money then they do. Which is very sad, considering he doesnt make much at all!:sad2: His dad is American, and step-mom is German. So the kids have dual citizenship til they are 18. Plus... They are kinda weird. :confused3 I cant quite put my finger on it... But there is something very off about them. ive only met them once... at our wedding, but, I dont know... they are just odd.

It's just an idea; plus if they don't have much, maybe (since you wouldn't have to travel) your DH could offer to help out with airfare or whatever. :confused3

Their kids are having their church confirmation, which is why they wanted us to come out for it.
