I remember my cousin wanted to see what I looked like with makeup. So we went to the Clinique or Estee Lauder counter and this really young girl (looked 17 years old) did my makeup. When I opened my eyes, I took one look and went: :scared1: :scared1: She put this weird eye shadow on me and it had glitter in it. Then she put way too much foundation and powder that was all wrong for my skin tone. She also gave me a nasty bright lipstick and I looked like a hoochie mama! :scared1:
I had a friend of my sisters, who was really good at doing her own make-up, do mine for my HS 20th reunion. She put this super dark eye shadow on me, TONS of mascara (layers and layers), and really deep red (burgundy, really) lipstick. To make matters even worse, I had just gotten a perm so my hair looked like a damn poodle, and I'd bought this beautiful bright blue outfit that made my skin look even more yellow than it is.:rotfl:

OMG, I look at photos from that night and just cringe! Ewwwww!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I went to Gene Juarez for a full day beauty package... It was VERY expensive, and they did my makeup. OMG.... I looked like a street walker.:sad2: Plus the girl that did my hair... oh boy! It was a TAD puffy.:lmao:

I love going to Gene Juarez, but it is too expensive. I've only ever gone when someone gave me a gift card so I wasn't paying full price. :)

I think the problem is that these girls are wayyy too young so they think their sense of style is based on how their own look is.

The lady that did my makeup was older then my mom!:lmao: But her makeup...:scared: It was thick!

The gal that did mine is near my age, and has very dramatic coloring: Vivid blue eyes and dark brown hair. So she can afford to wear deep, rich colors; however, I have pasty, yellowish skin, brown eyes, light brown hair. Very few colors look good on me, and they need to be in the more natural color scheme: Greens, browns, neutrals. NOT burgundy.

Time for me to get ready for bed. Talk to you hyenas later! pixiedust: Goodnight!!

Okay, seeing as how I got little sleep last night, I am going to hit the hay! Night guys!

well, that i can understand. to make fried rice, but asians dont dump soy sauce on their white rice... now THAT is an American thing :)
oh ic. I dont' like soy sauce I never put it on my rice but my family likes to dump soy sauce all over their rice and they look at me like I'm the weird one.
Oh my... Daniel Jackson is on Eureka!!:rolleyes1
dangrad2-saladscreamskaterg8.jpg

Oooh I've been watching Eureka, it's not bad.

Some new from my side of the world. Dh talked to his boss and it's the same story, the guy listened to everything dh had to say but dh says in the end he doesn't think the guy believes we're hurting. He said dh is on the higher end of the pay scale compared to everyone else and everyone else is doing just fine. But dh did say he had something good to say for everything his boss said, so it may work out but his boss is going to talk to his other boss and they'll discuss it. So it doesn't look too good, but at least we tried. I don't know why they don't believe us. Everyone else here has bought before this inflation in prices in housing which is why they aren't hurting. For us to rent takes over half dh's paycheck leaving us with no spending money. Because the rest of his pay check will go to bills and food. So I don't see how they can't believe us just because nobody else has complained. It pretty much sucks, but we'll wait and see. So that flat we wanted is out of the question, boo.

My 3:00 pm update:

Dh's boss got back to him and agreed that it's more expensive here, however because dh is already making more money than the rest of his peers and his peers are doing fine they can't justify giving him a large pay increase. And to make matters worse dh is going on a 2 week business trip to Norway so I'm stuck in the temp house by myself with the giant spiders for 2 weeks. We won't be able to do any more house hunting until he gets back becaues the competition is so crazy that even if I went to look at a place and liked it I can't apply since I have no references and dh is the one with the job he has to apply and the places wont' be around by the time he gets back. So I'm stuck in limbo and I'm so stressed. I hate hate hate living out of a suitcase for as long as we have. But I feel better for venting. Oh the good news (not that this is that great) is that we get to stay in the temp house for another month.

Christina- I'm sorry that you and your DH are going through all of this. That really bites and I don't blame you for being stressed. I'm glad that at least his boss realized that your living expenses is costly. I hope things work out for you.

I would be freaked out if I had to live with your giant arachnids. It's like something you would see in a horror movie! :scared1: I hope you guys find a place soon. Hang in there!!

sorry to hear about your troubles. Whenever there is a down point, there will always be a good and happy point to which you will make it through happy!

Hello bernice, if you are still around. ugh... what a night, and then what a day!:headache: Alex woke up at 11:30, then went back to bed... I FINALLY fell asleep around 2, Alex comes in and wakes me up around 3.. he cant sleep. GO BACK TO BED!!!! He comes back in around 4:30, my ear hurts, and I want daddy to take me to the doctor. :guilty: and then I realize I am laying in a PUDDLE!!!:headache: Mikalah peed through her diaper. :sad2: So I get up, and get Alex settled on the couch, give him some medicine, and a snack... I called dh to let him know Alex MIGHT have an ear infection. "What do you want me to do? If I come home, I cant use vaca. hours..." So by this time, I was very tired.. when I am VERY tired, I get a tad pissy.... and angry. "NO CRAP!!! Im not Fing STUPID you know!!!!   Whoops... Didnt mean to scream at him.:guilty: Oh well... He will get over it. So I turn on cartoons for Alex, ask if he will be okay if mom goes and takes care of the baby.. Yeah, hes watching cartoons, what does he need me for?:lmao: So I change the babys diaper, change the sheets, lay down a blanket for her, and she sleeps through the whole thing!:lmao: So I pass out on the couch with Alex... Dh comes home at the regular time. We are watching Alex, to see if he NEEDS to go to the doctor... he is running around, playing and having a good ole time. :headache: So we vote no doctor... and no school. Dh calls the school, gets everything straightened out with them.. We made Alex lay down around 9:30, and I conked out on the couch while Mikalah watched Monsters Inc. Alex slept til around 2:30, and the kids proceeded to fight til 7 when I put them to bed. To top it off, we missed Back to School night, which Alex was VERY excited about. :sad1:

ahhhh, yes I remember those days. That whole routined stopped when Noah had tubes put in, no more ear infections after that -- YEAH!!!

Oh my... Daniel Jackson is on Eureka!!:rolleyes1

Staley's McDreamy??? or is it McSteamy?? ;)

What's up hyenas? :smooth: I got got a mani-pedi!! It was so fun!!

I never get those either and it was just for fun. It was really really relaxing and fun. The lady was super nice and she didn't try to sell me things. She gave me home remedy tips and stuff and threw in a free bonus during the treatment.

I went to a new spa that opened up in Nordstrom. I didn't even notice it before. It's very calm and relaxing inside. They have different services from massage, manicure, pedicure, facials, etc. They have a lot of different types for each one and you can choose.

I got a pedicure and the chair was so comfortable. It had comfy throw pillows for my back. I felt like a queen sitting there. :rotfl2: She used a mango-ginger organic scrub on my feet. It smelled lovely! She said I had such nice feet but I should wear sandals more often and not sneakers. :rolleyes1 She gave me free jelly sandals to wear and keep. Then she painted my toenails with a light pink color.

The manicure was awesome. She noticed my hands were cracked, had tons of dry/cracked nails and hang nails. She removed it all. She used a organic scrub for my hands and arms. Then she put my hands inside these heated mitts that had some type of wax that soothes the skin. It was really warm and felt nice. :goodvibes

She used a butter cream for my hands and it felt so much better! My skin is so smoothe now. Usually it's horribly rough. :rolleyes1 It was a lot of fun. I found out she loves DL and Tink and she is even going to the MHT next month with her kids. She said she went last year and loved it. She and her family love CA Soarin and that is their favorite ride. :yay:

She also gave me a flavored tea to drink. I hate tea but I loved this one! It's called E-Lixer and it's a type of syrup that you add to water. I got an apricot flavored one and it tasted really good. The teas are supposed to calm you and some give you energy.

She painted a cute flower on one nail on each hand. It looks really cute. :yay:

I've lawys wanted to do that. But I'm scared I would freak everyone out with my ugly toes! I've been going barefoot most of the day, so now my heels are dry and cracking- UGH!

That sounds cool. You were probably dreaming that you were on a deserted island with Daniel Jackson and no kids. :rotfl2:

Ding Ding Ding!!:lmao: And we have a winner folks!!!:rotfl2:

:) too funny!

They both sound really nice. Maybe I'll have a facial done... I've never done that either, and my face definitely needs help! I have combination skin, oily with dry flakes and wrinkles. And blackheads and some acne, too. You'd think being nearly 45 I'd be done with that.

I have super sensitive skin, which is part of the reason I don't wear much make-up. I break out with darn near anything. In fact, recently on another thread they were talking about the wonders of mineral make-up, which I've heard is great for acne-prone skin and sensitive skin, so I bought some at Target and tried it out. Started breaking out the next day. :rotfl:

Coulda been hormonal, though, so I should try it again...

That's awful Alex! :scared1: I know what you're talking about though. I don't wear makeup because it dries out my skin real bad. It also gave me pimples. I don't wear makeup at all...haven't for years.

I use a Neutrogena facewash and lotion every day. It helps prevent breakouts. (gee, I sound like the commercial now) :rotfl:

I use clinique. It is the ONLY thing that works for me. There is a system that you can buy, bar soap, toner, moisturizers. It is amazing!!

I used to use Clinique make-up, they had a foundation for sensitive skin and it was the only stuff that didn't make me break out. But then they discontinued it and (at least at the time) didn't have a replacement (new and improved) version. That's when I quit wearing foundation. :guilty:

I use their foundation, and when we were at the store the woman tried it on me, and Alex looked at me. "Wow MOM!! You cant see your pimples anymore!!!" :headache: Dh was :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: his butt off!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: hey... short skirt, and tight shirt and you are good to go!:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Oh heck no, Pixster doesn't roll like that! :sad2: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I discovered the face wash from Garnier Nutrise, very gentle cleansing and my skin isn't all red and scaly anymore. Plus moisturize with Olay regenerist, right now I'm out of Olay so I'm using a product line called BeFine that hubby bought for himself at CVS. It's labeled as a night cream, but it has caffeine in it--- which I think is hilarious! But it does the trick. :)

Mall of America has a Bare Minerals store, I had them make up my face.. really disappointed. Maybe it was the worng shade/color? She put so much on my nose and chin that I looked ghosty pale. Hubby didn't like it, my boys said I looked funny.

I gave up on makeup- again.

Mmmmm....I'm eating the usual food from Starbucks: chop chop salad and my strawberry frap.

It's a bit quiet at work this morning. I think it's because the usual co-workers who are loud are not here today. :rolleyes1

My bf said that his work will be losing 5 facilities at the end of this month (that's about 100 patients each facility). He's soooo happy that his one co-worker quit. She worked in a different department and her boss left really early. She would distract the workers in my bf's department and would sit on the floor and talk and talk and talk to people. His co-workers who sat next to him weren't getting any work done because they would just talk to her. My bf got really annoyed and would use another desk to do his work just to get away from her. I asked him why he or the other managers didn't say anything to her, but he said it was because she wasn't in there department. At least she's gone though.

DBF and I were grocery shopping at the new Super Walmart last night and I saw Mickey Mouse head shaped hamburger patties! DBF wouldn't let me get them though.
DBF: But you don't even like hamburgers
Me: So, lets get them for you
DBF: I'm not eating a burger shaped like a mouse's head. :rotfl2:

lol, when i sell ice cream, people go, can i get this mickey head Ice Cream?

i give it to them and when they take a bite i was like, how dare you eat mickey!!! and then i say j/k! :P

Hi everyone. Gosh I feel like I need 10 days to catch up. Hope all is well.

Things are good here. I'm not done painting because I've had other projects and things to do at the schools that have kept me from them. Then, I was sick for 3 days. No fun for that.

So I wanted to drop by and say hello. I cannot believe most of you are going next week. I'm so jealous. I really wish ours would have stayed during that time. This dance studio just keeps changing things and I'm really thinking of changing myself to another studio but I have invested so much money into this season that I need to stick it out.

I've seen those too but at Albertson's. My little sister saw it with me and she's all: "Weird! Are you going to buy those?" and I said: "No!" lol. I also saw Mickey shaped cheese at Ralph's. It only comes in cheddar. They also had Mickey on string cheese packets but they aren't mickey shaped. I think they also have Mickey waffles and princess ones too in the frozen food section.
