GEESH, he must be really young for that! I'm so sorry. I know how your DSis feels, it's just overwhelming at first. :flower3:

Things will get better. He will need to eat differently, just like my DH. I'm guessing from what little you know that he didn't have much damage to the heart, which is a great sign. It's a big old punch-in-the-gut kind of wake-up call, but better this way than something far worse. He'll probably live much healthier because of it. Hugs to you and your DSis.

He's 55. Its not his first heart attack, and from what she said he almost died. They had to shock him 6 times. :headache: They put a stint in and he seems to be okay for now. About 4 years ago he had an abscess on his brain and almost died from that. Its been a rough day....

no, I don't like fish..I have thought about retiring and trying for a job at DL, but I think the commute would be bad, unless I can figure out a way to work two or three days (part time?) staying at a hotel, etc. and then come home. :wizard:

haha, we do have people that take the metro up from SD. :)

Wow, that's awful! Hopefully he has a quick recovery; and on the plus side, it sounds like they're already aware of what they're dealing with.

Hi Alex! Hey... I had a couple of questions I wanted to ask you.... No if only I could remember what they were!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hey, sorry to get back so late; I got hung up.

So did you remember your question(s)?

hmmmmm... Oh yeah! The character meals. You did Storytellers, and Minnie and Friends, right? Tell me about them! Dh and I are trying to figure out what to do for a Character Meal....

We have now done all of them except the Princess meal.

The boys enjoyed Storytellers more than I expected; they met Chip and Dale (who they recognized from last year, and from watching their cartoons on the hotel tv channel), Kenai and Koda (they watched Brother Bear this past summer), and enjoyed meeting Terk (Tarzan) and Meeko (Mulan) even though I don't think they recognized them.

Minnie and Friends was fun, but kinda hectic. Characters were coming one after the other, and they seemed to start out with a 'route' to cover the whole place, but then when they got bunched up at the same table they'd deviate from the route and then wound up skipping us! We waited to see Eeyore, then walked out, but caught him outside. We waited for him to take a break, but then the somewhat nice CM 'handler' we were waiting with was chastised by another cranky CM who apparently was nagging them to get back inside.

Goofy's Kitchen (which I think you've done, too?) is great, though also seemed a bit disorganized this time. Aladdin came by twice, but skipped our table, so before we left I spotted him and asked him to come by; it was the direction he was heading anyway, so after stopping at tables along the way, we finally met him. He even dealt sweetly with a bored DS3, who by then was under the table and coaxed him out. :goodvibes

And we loved Lilo & Stitch (breakfast @ PPH), too. Good character interaction, relaxed atmosphere and very nice waitstaff.

I'd say these last two are our favorites, and happen to be the first ones we did.

Things are really up in the air about our Christmas trip, but if we ARE going, I want to decide on a couple of character meals. I know we are doing Lilo and Stitch again, and we were trying to decide Between Goofy's Kitchen for dinner... (again) and Storytellers for breakfast. I was also curious about Minnie and friends... But it doesnt sound like our cup of tea.

Sorry, INSANE DIEGO=in San Diego

My sister lives in SD. She loves it there and she's so close to the beach and she enjoys the nice weather. She says the people there are so mellow and friendly.

<---Pixster about to blow away! There are several fires here in Los Angeles. One is in Santa Rosa and it's blowing all the ash over to where I live. There is also one in Irvine and one in San Diego. It's crazy because the winds are pretty strong over here. My boyfriend and I went out earlier and I saw so many trees that have been knocked over. The worst I saw was a huge fat tree that had fallen over on someone's front lawn. You could see huge chunks of the grass and roots uprooted. It was crazy!

Hi Staley! I'm sorry to hear about your DH's brother. I hope he has a safe and speedy recovery.

We went to Minnie & Friends hoping to see Pooh characters (for DS3), and we did. We saw Tigger and Eeyore (and several other characters.) I was just bummed about the disorganization and people stepping in instead of waiting at their table, and the crankiness of some of the staff. Other people have said it's their favorite character meal, so maybe we just had a bad experience. :confused3

Goofy's is more lively, always a variety of characters from day to day. We have done that one twice, and enjoyed it. :)

Cool! Right now we are waiting for stepson, his wife and three grandkids! They had to evacuate their house in Ramona (north east of San Diego) due to the fire! their house is on the far side away from the fire, but four years ago (to this day!) they had a bad fire the burned 3,000 homes in san diego, south of where we live!

What part of San Diego does your sister live?

That's terrible! I hope they are able to contain the fires soon. There are some here in Los Angeles and the air is very unpleasant to breathe in. :scared:

My sister lives in La Jolla. :)

We have done Goofys for breakfast, and dinner. We really liked dinner there, and thought it was tons better then the breakfast. But that could be because neither dh or I like breakfast food much. :scared:

I've only had the dinner buffet at Goofy's. I think it's really good and the selection is awesome. I've never had their breakfast before.
