I took a basic recipe

Hello everyone!! Hi Bernice, if you are still around. I just put the kids down... We had yummy stir fry for diner, and I made another batch of cookies. Dh loves those stinking no bake cookies, and they are so easy to make! We also got Alex's Halloween costume in the mail today, and he was so excited! He makes a darn good looking Power Ranger, if I do say so myself! And what a deal I go on it... It cost $12.99 with free shipping on Disney.com. I also got Mikalah and Frelan NBC tees. Only $4.99 each!

Hi Staley!

I haven't tried the no bake cookies.
Today I tossed my air bake cookie sheets, tired of my cookies looking crappy.. my new dark pan works wonders!

I've been gradually replacing all my pot and pans with commercial non stick, now I need to replace my baking items. I have one good cookie sheet, decnt weight 8" square and one set of heavy duty loaf pans. My cake pans are the crappy light weight aluminum (goodwill rejects), but I don't do cakes very often.

Hey Staley!! Sweet deal on the costume!! Glad you had a good dinner. My kids would laugh at me if I tried to lay them down that early!! Lucky girl. We just got home from the PTA Spaghetti dinner and it was a hit, about 250 families showed up which was great, it was very busy. Now they are all in the shower, so I have a few minutes!

I was the happy housewife today...

Cleaned up the apartment and my messy kitchen, made homemade chicken noodle soup and cookies!

I used this recipe and tweaked it a bit, don't have shortening yet and no butter.. used margarine.. they worked out ok! Used orange flavored cranraisins and cashews.

I don't know the rules here but MN law is NO home made treats. In fact, even bake sales are discouraged.

It was nice at Head Start to say.. sorry that's the law.... less sugary treats sent to school. Instead we were force fed at every home visit, "please please eat!" , our families loved us..... and loved food!

Oh we are absolutely ALLOWED to send them in, but I have been a terrible homemaker lately and just cannot get into it again!! Which is what I meant, I am slacking off big time!!!

Yeah, I hear ya!! But my kids would be up at like 3-4 am if I did that!! Luckily, Nathan has been going to bed around 8pm so that helps. But I had to give up his 2-3 hour nap during the day to accomplish that. Not sure yet which way I like it better, but I've had so much to do during the day that I'm just not able to be home for nap time anymore! So it's working for now.

I have days and days go by where I just don't wanna cook, so I don't and my kids eat junk. Then I feel gulity and cook like mad.. just to get burned out again...It's a horrible cycle.

Fall is my time of year for baking. When it's really cold this week I might make some bread.. it's very relaxing. Stir, Mix, Pound, Roll, and a feeling of real accomplishment when you pull the bread out hot and yummmy!

Haven't used AC for days now
I had the patio door open for awhile.. I'm sitting next to it.. but it's so cold that my feet were freezing..brrr!

Looking at a low of 43 on Thursday and Friday, Highs in 70's. It's the same temp as Anaheim, which is weird! We escape the heat here in the weekends for the nice ocean temps.
