Well, looks like we are headed to Reno for Labor day weekend.. NOT!! My mom wants us to stay with her so bad she is giving up her bed... I told her Alex and Mikalah could stay with her... I thought she would love that! I guess not! Oh well.. we are going to pick up some more of my dads things, I dont know what all she expects that we can pick up.. We have a teeny car, ask Alex! Shes seen it!

It's a paper bag scrapbook! It's for my BFF's little girl. She was diganosed with Dandy Walker syndrome last month and is having brain surgery on Monday. Pretty much Dandy Walker is a cyst that formed before she was born while the baby was developing. It is blocking fluid that is in the brain from going where it is supposed to go so they have to put in 2 shunts that will drain into her stomach. She's only 17 months. I am really worried for her and my BFF. Everything happened so fast. No one really thought anything was wrong with Alyssa but the doctors did note that her head was larger than average. The dr finally did a CT scan last month becuase Alyssa still has never crawled or walked. Hopefully once they get the pressure off her brain she will start to progress but this is a pretty rare disese and theres really not much info about around.

Oh Sarah, I will pray for her. I've never heard of that and I hope they have success with the surgery. Your scrapbook is really neat looking, you are very talented.

I read the 10 most missed DL rides right before I got on here. You know I remember some of them as a kid, but just vaguely. I started going to DL when I was just a few months old.

My grandmother lived on a boat near a shipyard. When I was little and used to stay with her I could hear them working. She used to tell me it was the Big Bad Wolf and that I needed to take my nap or he would come and get me. When I was a couple of years old we went to DL and the Big Bad Wolf came walking down the street, I guess I totally freaked out!! I guess I also asked Minnie Mouse how she could eat without any teeth. She told me that she had to go to a restaurant on Main St. and eat soft cheese. I don't remember it, but my grandmother used to tell me that. I'm guessing the characters used to talk, because they don't now do they??

Just buy a portable luggage rack for the top and stuff things in suitcases or boxes and tie to the top. They are not very expensive, you just need to make sure you tie things on really good. We did that one year on the way back from Calif. because my grandparents were always loading us down with stuff!

It's ok Lynn. I can make you an employee of a particular hotel chain and get you a $59 rate at a local hotel! I don't think it's quite as close as the HoJo, it's on the other side of DL, but I think it offers a free cont. breakfast and it's within walking distance.

Have I mentioned how much I love Thursday nights?? I come home the house is clean, the kids & DH are gone racing. I soak in the tub for a long time, eat whatever I want for dinner, have complete control of the tv. It's just like living alone (at least for a few hours).

Maybe you young un's can go to the TV Land channel and watch some of the shows I remember. Right now Sanford & Son is on, Mash is coming up next! I always loved Mash. My human biology teacher in high school used to give us extra credit every day if we watched Mash the night before. He would pass out a sheet with 1 question from the show and if you got it right you got extra credit.

I have given myself a self-imposed Dis curfew of 9pm, except weekends or if I'm waiting up for DD to get home from a date. I was starting to get where I was staying up too late, then couldn't fall asleep and didn't want to wake up in the morning. I don't know why, but I can't seem to fall asleep right after being on the computer.

My family is usually asleep when I'm on here. I think the house could fall down around DH when he's sleeping and he wouldn't even notice.

Hi Tinkermell! Yeah I seen that post, but I can't remember when it was either. I guess when you're on Hyena Time you just lose track of the days.

I have tatoos, 7 of them I think. Of course they are my little blue dots from radiation. But I think I will lose at least 3 or 4 of them when I have my reconstructive surgery when they cut the old skin off. DH has 2 tatoos. I would never put any on me, but that's just my choice I guess. I hate even leaving the furniture in one place for too long, I just couldn't imagine being stuck with the same artwork on my body forever!

I just found out that DH is going to have a weird work schedule for the next 6 weeks, starting on Sunday. The end of summer and fall is their busy time. All of the stores are ordering tv's for the Christmas rush.

Normally he works M-F, from 3:30am - noon or 1pm. But they are switching everyone into rotating days and adding 1 new shift. They will split everyone up into 3 different shifts and then hire a bunch of temps.

He will work for 3 - 12 hour days, then have 2 days off. Then he will work for 4 - 12 hour days and then 3 days off. Or something like that. Anyway, it's only temporary. I'm not sure what hours he's going to be working, I think days, but who knows.

Tell me about it!!!!!!!!!!! I used to be out late every Monday night to practice singing. I live in the country, so things are pretty quiet, and sometimes creepy on the lonesome road home. Do you think DH even noticed when I got home????????? Nope!!! Snore city!!! I used to get mad and tell him, something could have happened to me and he would have never known until the morning when he woke up. And that is another thing about remebering. We had no cell phones then. Now I can't even imagine driving home now without it.
