OMG no!!!
hey alex...you never really say alot about them but what about the grandparents...do they ever take the kids for the night?
I would trust my parents. Well, my mom.

But she's not as spry as she used to be, so I try not to abuse her kindness too much. She does watch DS3 (or both) when I need it, but I think it is tiring for her.
DH's dad and stepmom are willing...begging, actually. But they just seem to have no sense about many child safety issues. They have done NO childproofing whatsoever in their home, no locking medicine away, breakables are everywhere. They have these super-low windowsills, perfect height for DS3, right? Well, she puts all these crystal and glass breakables on them! Not only that, she loves candles (so do I), and so has tons of votives in them as well, and lights them when we're coming over! DS3 cannot stay out of them, it's really awful! DH has even specifically asked her to either put them away, or at least not light them, and she gets miffed! "He needs to learn that he can't touch them."
Yes, he does, BUT HE'S THREE! I don't want him to learn by setting himself afire!!!

(ETA: We're not talking one or two candles, we're talking like twenty, all around the room.)
And they have this big Chihuly bowl (you know what I mean? Expensive glass), and it's out on a low table, and she put candy or something in it that was very attractive to DS3. How the HECK do you expect him to leave that alone?!

We have let DS7 stay over there (not overnight, though) by himself, because he's very well behaved and can speak up for himself. We just don't trust DS3 (or them) enough yet to spend time alone there yet.
