We are looking to rent points this summer (which we have done many times) but this time my BIL/SIL and nephew will be coming. We would be reserving to separtate 2br units and I would ideally like to add on DDP to both of our ressies but my nephew who is 7 and runs the gammut in health problems, including autism and OCD, is on a gluten and casein free diet and because of previous health problems is on a g-tube and does not eat solid foods (my SIL blends his food in a food processor) so would NOT need to be included in the plan as she will be making and bring along all his food. Has anyone ever heard of Disney making an acception to the "everyone needs to be on the same package" rule? Is it possible they could get the DDP for themselves and not include their son?

good luck with this..I would call them and ask. Please report back. I really hope disney is sensitive enough to make considerations for this.

I definitely think they could make an exception in this case. Especially if you have a doctor's note explaining his current medical condition, I think it might be illegal to force you into it?

From everything I've ever heard or read here, they will not make any exceptions. Numerous people have asked this before for a variety of legitimate medical reasons and Disney will not make exceptions to the policy.

If they're looking for the convenience of pre-paying,they could purchase gift cards to cover the cost of the meals and use those during the trip.

PS - and there's no forcing anyone into anything. No one is required to purchase the dining plan at all.

They'll be able to use the credits among themselves.

You could also max out capacity on one room and not have dining on the other with less people. It would allow you to have some on the plan. Of course this would only work if you have a few extra spaces in one room.
