Unpopular Opinions

What are some of your opinions about DCL/ports/excursions/etc. that many other people seem to disagree with?

For me personally, I liked Atlantis. I know a lot of people don't think it is worth it or didn't enjoy it, but we will be going back there for our second cruise this summer.

What's your unpopular opinion?
We liked Atlantis so much on our first cruise with our kids, that we went back & stayed for a week

This is somewhat related to DCL since someone mentioned it on a thread here lately. I would never ever do an Air BNB stay or rent my house out for one. There is so much that could go wrong, and the whole concept doesn't sit well with me. Maybe I am just paranoid.

here's a REALLY REALLY unpopular opinion (I have learned from another thread): I don't want to give FE gifts to adults...nor, do I want FE gifts from ANYONE. Even though it seems fair andeasy to me, I really really p**ses people off....

then just pixie dust, don't sign up for FE groups. like what some others said on that other thread, it's not fair to the participants if you sign up for the group, but give nothing to the cabins without kids.

I don't care about fireworks. I don't care for fireworks anywhere not just on the ship .But at least on the ship when DW and DD's force me to watch I'm not stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour.

I would love it if someone in our meet group organized a kids only FE. I might try starting one on our next cruise. I really only participate because of the joy my kids get out of checking for little gifts each time we return to our cabin. I have loved all the FE gifts I've received but would prefer only my kids receive stuff.

We have used AirBNB in Rome and had a wonderful experience. We had a 3 bedroom apt. We looked out the window and could see the Vatican.

Five Guys are the bomb

I would love a Five Guys burger. I have been searching for a good burger for two years. :( Hard to find a good ole American Burger in Europe.

I'm not a fan of servers staying with you for the duration. If you happen to get a bad one (or two), you're stuck.

I see too many drunks in public places. No tolerance for that.

I really don't care what makes the garden grow.

Having said that, we LOVE DCL. We will only be on #3 in September, but we have had a relaxing blast each time.

Not really. You only have to speak to your head server and you'll either be relocated (with new servers), or the servers will have some re-training.

speaking of requesting a different serving crew: let's say i get a terrible head server. if i ask to be changed to a different head server, does that entail a change in the server and asst server as well?

My unpopular opinion? The 'premium pricing' on DCL just doesn't add up to what you *might* have to pay OOP for on other lines. I cruised Royal last year, paid nothing extra over the cruise fare, and had as much fun and relaxation time as I've had on three (soon to be four) DCL trips.

Then why don't you cruise with Royal instead of DCL if you like it just the same or more and it is cheaper? :confused3

I don't cruise either. I'm a college student. I happen to *go* on cruises if someone takes me. :rotfl2:

I have been watching the prices for a possible spring break or graduation trip, though. If money was no concern I'd probably still pick DCL.

How would you know if you have a terrible head server?

I don't know about others, but I don't book Disney thinking that I will have to pay less OOP onboard and therefore make up the cost difference between the other lines. I book Disney knowing that I will most likely have to pay more total, but I don't care because it is a product I enjoy.

Yes, each head server handles a section of the MDR. If you switch head servers you will be in a different section. Unless you're sort of on the edge and, maybe, they can adjust whic
