I heard the discussion on the podcast a few weeks ago about potential PIN strategies. I've received maybe 2 of them over the last 4 years. Thinking I'll try my luck I went and started saving different dates to my Disney online account. Then this week I get the 20/25/30/35 PIN offer in my email.
After looking at a few long weekends in July, my wife and I decided to book 4 nights at Poly because the room rate was just too good to pass up! So good in fact that I considered staying Concierge level, until the wife pointed out that the money we'd be spending was just short of a 10 day no expiration hopper pass, to which I said good point and we just booked the Garden View room. We've got so much other travel this year that we didn't think we'd make it to the parks at all, but the PIN combined with a great airfare rate made us reconsider.
