the one time DF and i were at Epcot it started to downpour. everyone piled under the awning near Innoventions while it continued to rain. after about 10 minutes a bunch of CMs came out, looked like they were the trash guys, and brought out trash cans with them. all of a sudden they were banging away at the cans to a beat in time with eachother! like a little "trash man band" lol. *cues the "Banging on a Trash Can" song from Doug*

did anyone else have anything like this happen? it was so random but so fun. we even caught it on tape because it was pretty sweet. princess:

You saw one of Epcot's performing groups, the Jammitors. They come out and perform at Epcot at certain times. They're a really neat group. We try to catch them at least once per trip. Nice thing to stumble across, huh? :)

Our "rain" story.

Looks like a downpour is coming, so we decide to go see "Beauty and the Beast: Live On Stage" in MGM.

We make the trip to the theater but we see when we get there on the sign that there is no show due to a some high school choirs using the theater at that time.
(And now its starting to sprinkle.)

I ask the CM out front if we can go in.
He said it was OK, but it was just going to be some HS kids singing some concert numbers.
(And now its starting to rain.)

We thought we'd rather be sitting INSIDE listening to some amateur singing groups than be OUTSIDE getting soaked, so we entered the theater (3/4 full of HS kids) and found some good seats right behind the audio mixer/crew in the center section.
(And now its starting to POUR outside.)

Just then, the audio guy hits a button and a recorded announcer says,
"Ladies and gentlemen, Walt Disney World is proud to present THE VOICES OF LIBERTY!"

What? The Voices of Liberty who normally only perform short (but OUTSTANDING) shows in the "rotunda" of The American Adventure in Epcot WS... HERE? NOW?

Yes, indeed!
They did a full 40 minute "set" (the shows at Am. Adv. are only 10 min. max).
Then, some of the HS choirs took the stage (one group at a time) and performed a few numbers (quite good). Then the VoL group came back out and joined in singing a couple of numbers with a select group of high schoolers.

We had a GREAT time listening to this first-rate singing troupe (considered to be Disney's finest vocal talent) and some very good school choirs... in a show that most guests could never experience.
And we had just decided, on the spur of the moment, just to "pop in" to stay DRY in that theater.

MAGIC!

Now THAT is true Disney MAGIC! :wizard:

We were finishing up dinner at Boma, soaking up the ambience when we heard what sounded like real drums and chanting(they have some kind of taped African music in teh background). As we left we saw some of the girls(CMs) working there had brought out small drums, adorned their ankles with bells and were performing an impromptu dance right there in the restaurant. What joy on their faces as they begged first one, then another of their fellow African CMs to join in, until there were about 8-9 dancing barefoot in a circle. It made the whole experience magical! :wizard:

When we were at AK this May, it started to rain realy hard out of nowhere. We didn't really mind because it was the end of our APs and it was our second rainy day in over thirty. Everyone was hiding in the bathroom portoco area that is on the way to Kilamanjaro Safaris. Suddenly out of nowhere, this guy brought his family out and around to yell at his wife and kids. Everyone watched through the bushes. It was pretty creepy and unexpected.

December '04 we were in the MK the day they were taping the Christmas parade. We were standing on the sidewalk in front of Cinderella Castle trying to figure out where to go now that we had made it past the chaos that was Main Street when they started bringing all the floats and people back that were in the part they were filming that day for another run through. So all the C-List actors are walking by, tons of characters, etc and very few people standing there. At the end was a couple CMs holding a rope and just before them a group that was performing. They waited and waited for the all clear to start filming and got bored so a couple kids from the group started jump roping with the CMs and the rope. All of a sudden, Stanley walks back and starts jump roping! If you've ever seen that character out and about - HUGE head, HUGE shoes. He finally got tripped up after a few jumps but everyone was cheering, LOL. I did get it on video and it still makes me laugh.

I'm not sure if you can tell from this. . . I made an avatar of it right after and just remembered it. . .but the site I hosted it on shrunk it . . .

The Stanley story is so cute!!

We were waiting to be seated in a resturant (can't remember which one!!) and it was raining outside. The waitress/waiter (can't remember which!!) came out and took us to a room a little furthur back in the resturant, still a place to dine, just kinda obscret (I think that's the word) and in the back, when all of a sudden we see Gapetto, Pinocchio, Robin Hood, Brother John, King Louie and other disney characters in the area where we were going to dine. Gapetto, Pinocchio, King Louie and some other characters were playing tag and Robin Hood and Brother John were riding in this car thing that you put 50 cents into and it moves. Great photo and autograph oppertunity!
