on this trip poor planing and ride openings (and some closings) lead to a great 2 day trip on faters day weekend.

first off let me tell you something. we had decided we were going to go to disneyland the thursday before we went and seeing as both and were between paychecks we were a little low on cash. bought his own ticket because of his amazing new job at the zoo. and are renewing their aps this trip as well. also keep in mindc that though it may not seem like we did much we did get all the stuff we wanted to do at DL done in like 6 hours.
we departed san diego at 12:30 pm and as soon as we were out of escondido we hit random traffic. we eventually arrive at the mickey and friends parking structure at approx. 2:30 pm so we're figuring up in donald or goofy. apparently all the fathers when asked where do you want to go for fathers day none of them said dl. that is to our advantage as you will find out. now we hit the front gate wondering where all the people are. we get in in a reasonable amount of time. no 30 min wait to get into the park today!
as soon as we get into the park we head over to innoventions to do our vmk quests. woot bay be! we got all the questions right (well duh) and we didnt even moove more than five feet . no big surprises there but hey we got that awesome hsm room. we also recieve fastpasses for space mountain at around 8:00 pm. but what's this? space mountain looks closed! is this the end of our hopes for space mountain today? read on to find out.
