1) We did SSr for the price,Location (love DTD),and the extra 12 years.

2) Just wished we could have afforded it several years ago. But very happy with it.

3) We do 1 main Week long trip then hope to get in 2 or 3 other 4 or 5 days trips every other year as thats how our APs will run. Then on the year between our APs we will do VB or a US/IOA trip.

4) Can't help you there as I'm not a big going out eater. but DW loves going down to Little Italy, Bowmans , Red Brick (both up by you) and Cafe Hon here in the Hood.

Oh, I like Cafe Hon and the Hon Bar. When I was looking for housing, I was living over in the Cold Spring / Falls Rd. area.

I'm right at 36/37th on falls rd.

we tried PerryHall for a year (Dunfield )many years ago but couldn't stand the quiteness :rotfl2:

1. I was in no way trying to insite those other threads. We bought BCV because it reminded us of the Eastern Shore. We really like WL at the time, but being from Minnesota that is what we saw when we went a couple miles north.

Am I crazy or does the Boardwalk remind anyone else of OC? A scaled down OC. I keep looking for Trimpers, Candy Kitchen, Thrashers and Dough Roller there. At least a Dumsers!

And I swear when I hear those 4 person bikes coming with the bells I keep thinking the tram is coming my way. I also think the place is really incomplete without a tall ferris wheel.

Well I could almost join in here, I'm just a bit down 81 from Hagerstown in WVa.

We own at SSR.

I'm No Prince- we LOVE your neighborhood. We stop at Cafe Hon after church sometimes and every year we come down for the Christmas lights.

1. Why I own at SSR: value/cost per point/low fees

2. I am a new owner so I am just happy now as I was a month ago when I signed by the mickeys and dated by the palm trees.

3. Times of year: It is hard to pick a favorite but I like early Dec., and Mid. Oct. alot. We are having a hard time finding a good time to go because of school schedules- we may have to start going in late August.

4. You don't eat crabs?:confused3. We are in No. Baltimore County and we have a lot of great nature trails and bike trails up here- people also like to fish, kayak, and tube down down the gunpowder. We have great country roads for bike riding here too. But this time of year you can't do too much of that due to the weather. We live close to Oregon Ridge park- great for sledding and they have a public beach in the summer (I don't really like it though)- I have seen people hanggliding and hot air ballooning from Oregon Ridge. I like Balt. City a lot. We go down to the Lyric or the Hippo for plays and touring Broadway shows. There are good concerts at the Recher in Towson or Ramshead live in Balto. In the summer Artscape is fun.

BroganMc: I have never been to BWV but if Disney and Thrashers struck a deal and I could get my Thrashers fries at WDW I think I would have to buy some BW points! My family owns a condo in OC and I spent full summers there as a kid, I am really looking forward to trying BWV.

Just a Saturday Evening Bump for all those Sunday morning browsers...

Let's Expand the this thread a little bit. Questions:

1. What is your favorite time of year to go to WDW?
2. Are you as happy today with your membership, as the day that you signed?
3. How often do you and your family try to visit the Mouse?
4. What is somebody from the Midwest supposed to do in this state if he does not Crab (or any seafood for that matter)? Every place I go serves a lot of seafood in this area.

Edward

Favorite time we have 2-middle of May and October. But also go in late Feb. or early march.

We are just as happy as the day we signed the 1st of 5 contracts.

We visit 3-times a yr.

Go to Ocean City check out the boardwalk.Try some fries, chicken and ice cream.

The Boardwalk does remind me of OC but they forgot the sand and the ocean.

And all of the Tshirt shops with highly innapropraite decals, the kamikaze seagulls, and my personal favorite: the New Testament sand sculpture artist. OC's boardwalk is definately 1 of a kind. I mean, where else can you enjoy a 30 foot wide sand sculture depicting the last supper, then turn around, walk 10 feet and get your belly-button pierced?

This thread makes me remember one of the reasons we joined DVC.The cost of a 2 bedrm condo ocean front for a wk 4yrs ago was as much as my MFs are now.We would take the kids every yr. Now we still bring the kids at least once a yr to WDW with us so that hasn't changed. They are both married now but we still very much enjoy taking them on vacation with us.

Thats what prompted us into buying as well. We love OC but it just got to the point where we could do Disney for the same price . Even for a quick 4 day trip.

As far as those that enjoy my Hood I'll give you all an open invite to next years Mayors Christmas Parade held the first week of Dec . It goes right past my House and we have great seats for it.

We still do OC for a few 2 day trips and for DDs soccer tournies .

Own BWV live in Columbia. We love DVC and come down at least 3times a year on our points. We are always visiting at Christmas other times of the year depend on our schedules.

I, also, hail from the Midwest. Grew up in NE, moved to MN. after getting married, then to SD before heading east to MD.
I have no suggestions as a substitute for seafood, as I'm in the same boat.:confused3 I miss the best beef that only comes from the Midwest.:woohoo: You KNOW what I'm talkin' about!!

From Westminster, own SSR, and always rationalizing more pts. Try and go 2-3x/yr...early May, mid Oct. or week before Thanksgiving are our favorite times to go.

NOTHING beats corn-fed beef! Nebraska to Minnesota to South Dakota to Maryland.. Wow! You only missed WI, IA & ND!

None of us rationalize needing more points, we just add-on! I have never been the week before Thanksgiving. How are the crowds? Similiar to just after Thanksgiving?

I have never been the week before Thanksgiving. How are the crowds? Similiar to just after Thanksgiving.

Crowds are minimal. 10-20min wait on rides w/o fastpass (popular rides). Never been week after Thanksgiving, but assume it's similiar. Went 1st week of Jan this year and thought crowds would diminish as week progressed...wrong! Nevermind the long lines for rides, just walking thru the parks was liking bobbing and weaving! Still had a great time though, but I'll stick to my Apr/May and Oct/Nov times.

As for you question earlier about what to do in MD. I found that there's so much more to do here than the midwest. Inner Harbor, Little Italy/Fells Point, Annapolis, D.C., Gettysburg, and the beach just to name a few. Only thing that will get me some of that wonderful cornfed beef is to head back for a Huskers game:cheer2: , otherwise I can't think of a good reason (other than food) to go back to the midwest.

Same here.......love OC but we get more for our money at Disney. Now we do spring, fall and winter trips to OC to enjoy some of the things that we love about it.

We live in Bethesda and own at BCV.

Well that puts us @ 38 DIS DVCers in Maryland. Anymore?

In three days we leave for OKW. I have noticed on some other posts that there will be other Marylanders down there around the same time.

Have safe trips everyone.
