I didnt see my name on this list, so thought Ide get added. I booked this trip when we were still down there this summer and was lucky enough to catch the free DDP for our spring break when I did, cause it is one of the dates they took off shortly afterwards.

Anyways, it will be myself, DH, DS14, DD12, DD4. Also DHs parents, and sisters are comming, but we wont be with them everyday and have no ADRs booked with them. We are staying at POR (our favorite resort) March 10-17th.
Our ADRs

3/10 Planet Hollywood @ 6pm

3/11 Cinderellas Royal Table @ 10am

3/12 Mama Melrose @ 3:30pm

3/13 Raglan Road @ 5:45pm (may make this a CM dinner)

3/14 Chef Mickeys @ 9am (may change to Tusker House)

3/15 Blizzard Beach, then off to visit friends off-site

3/16 Chefs de France @ 5pm

I really wish the Dis meet was the next week, especially with it being at POR, maybe one of these days Ill be there on the right date!

Good Morning -

Not sure if it is me or what but while on the Disney site yesterday I noticed two changes in the calendar for MK that I had not previously taken note of.

First - The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment from February 26 through March 10, 2012*

*(this has been added to page 1 of the thread)

Second - Sunday March 4th MK hours are now listed as 9am to 10pm and 10pm to 1am EMH

*(which is extended from the previous hours of 9am tp 12am)

I did not have time to go thru the entire month yesterday nor did I check the other parks for hours changes

I just glanced back at the Hours calendar for MK and noticed on March 6 & 7 the hours are now listed as 9am to 9pm ( instead of 9am to 9pm )

There may be other changes, not sure.

You can check it yourself , just click March on the drop down menu

Normally Disney will start doing park hour changes about 2 months out then again at or near 2 weeks out this also applies to adding extra shows of Fantasmic!

I guess my point is that isnt the Disney site the last to actually get updated? I thought that the travel agent site was the most reliable.

I have heard too that the TA calendar tends to get updated first but somebody must have dropped the ball this time

I would love to do the late EMH sometime but this trip the 1am is the day we arrive. I did mention it to DH and he just looked at me like I was crazy

My TA has never given me reliable park hours and refurb details from the TA website. I think it's the other way around.

I would be happy to do a Mini Dis Meet with you, if we can coordinate our schedules - not sure which parks you are in on which days.

You two crack me up! So Liddy, I would completley take you up on the offer to take our case of water down for us, but since it would be about a 2.5 hr drive to get the water to you, I guess we will just save that gas money and figure something else out! Thanks for the offer, though...aren't Dis friends just the bestest???

D~- I will definitely check into the Brita filter bottles. DH and I were talking last night about doing something like that. We are staying at a Mod, so we will have a fridge in the room. Thanks for the suggestion!

On a different note, we are revamping our surprise reveal since we are going to be flying now instead of driving. Our original plan was to have the bags packed while they are at school (the day before check in) and having them open a box of Mickey balloons when they get home, then hitting the open road to drive all night. Well now, we don't fly out until our actual check-in day. Our kids are NOT morning people, so to try to do a fun "surprise, we are going to Disney" at 4 o'clock in the morning would NOT go over so well...not fun. DH and I came up with an alternative plan last night....

We will have the bags packed and put them in the shed next to the house. When they get home from school Wednesday we will tell them we won't be going to church that night because we are tired and just want to stay home and have a movie night. After dinner and everyone is bathed we will sit down with some popcorn and soda in our refillable resort mugs from this past March. I will pop the "movie" in the DVD player while DH sneakily get the video camera going....and the movie of the night???


The Disney vacation planning DVD!!!! SURPRISE, WE FLY OUT TOMORROW MORNING TO GO TO DISNEY!!!!

What do you all think of this?

I still might have to print some pages later if I revise it, but at least I will get the bulk of them done now. I opened up my email and cringed seeing an crowd level update from TP for my dates but for once I was pleasently surprised that my planned parks actually went down in crowd levels. Hope they stay lower.

Still waiting for Disney to open up the bookings for the Wishes Dessert Party, I want to get my reservation made so I will be totally done with my plans.

Apparently I stink as a planner- I got the same email, but didn't realize that they went down, I thought some of them went up!

But....I did pay off the trip today, so yay!!!!

Aww thanks, Liddy! I will probably get DH to help me figure it out. He is a lot more tech savvy than I am. I am a quick learner, just not adventurous enough to play around and figure stuff out. Too scared I will do damage that couldn't be repaired!

Yesterday I got some fun mail...another $125 in Disney gift cards I had ordered, and some really cool battery operated "flashy" wands I ordered from Oriental Trading. These will be great for the kids to use at the nighttime shows. We won't have to pay 3X their value by purchasing them from a vendor on property.

My next goal is to buy a few grocery items each week to get our snack and breakfast supply ready. I can't get them when the kiddos are around because they will wonder why I am not letting them eat them now. After those are purchased we will have everything we need for the trip.

WHoot!!! Glad you got them - I use mine ever single day! Just make sure, the first time you use them, you rinse a full bottle of water through the filter (I do 2)... The first time I bought one - sometime in 2003... I didn't read those instructions. So, when I bought my next one - I did - and I flushed it - the first few sips out of the filter was gray water (from the charcoal)... I nearly gagged. Very imortant to flush one bottle of water before drinking.

I've been doing this too... I know that we only have so much room for snacks in our checked bags... but I do want to bring a few things with so we have them around...

Thanks... Well, mine is the ancient version of the Ipad - LOL I got it all printed out today and it looks really awesome - I think it will be perfect for the parks!

You have to track those days specifically when you are signed in - then it emails you when there are changes or updates... Also, my favorite part - it tells me how many days until my trip! The page loads waaay faster than the Disney website. LOL

Does anyone know when some of the updated Fantasyland rides will be in? I heard/read that some, like the new Dumbo ride, may be "early 2012". I'm hoping that means some of us March travellers will see them!
