if you buy the book they will ask you a few questions in regards to what is said(word) on certain pages. if you have the book you get a 50% discount. i don't know of any other discount available

They'll ask you for a specific word on a specific page in the book to confirm that you've bought it (or have otherwise managed to acquire it). You're then given 50% off the subscription rate. I'm unaware of any other codes or deals.

i've heard of discount codes through newsletters for hotels, car rentals, undercovertourist etc but i never saw one for UG. if there is one out there for UG someone on this board will eventually let us know.

The previous posters who said this were right: the discount is in the book. If you have bought the book you select that option. The site will then, during the subscription process and before the point of payment, ask you questions relating to the book. I believe the questions are not set - there are a few and they can be random so you can't just find out what someone else's questions were and note the answers as your questions will possibly be different. I seem to recall from last year that there were 2 so the odds of getting the same 2 as someone else you may have spoken to are not that great. It isn't that much for the subscription anyhow. With a 50% off they are practically giving the membership to you.

This is correct. Allears does have discounts for Touring Plans in their newsletter sometimes. There was just one fairly recently and I used it last week to subscribe. It isn't as big a discount as having the book, but it saved me a couple of bucks.

Thanks! I'll check out my all ears news letters. I bought the book last year so its not worth buying it again to save a few bucks. Not much has changed. YET!!!
