Just wondering; I've bought and enjoyed these guides for many Walt Disney World/ Disneyland CA visits- why is the DLP edition so ridiculously expensive?!
I noticed that recently...it didn't cost that much when I purchased the DLP book about 6 months ago on Amazon...I only paid $15 and there were loads of them...I checked last week to suggest it to a friend and it was some absurd price!
The last edition which was published in 2010 has been out of print for a while now. I think the Brits Guide is a better book and is updated often and is easily available.
It's all down to supply and demand, people want the book so second hand book sells can sell it at a price they know they can get for it.
Supply and demand makes total sense....but the $686 price tag on US Amazon for a 'new' book seems a bit of a stretch.
But the used ones are still rather affordable at $20.
But I agree with Jonjo, I'd opt for a different book if given the choice. That one is 'ok'...nothing very detailed or unattainable elsewhere...try the Brit one.
I was given the Unofficial DLP guide before my birthday trip in 2011 and was quite disappointed with it, even more so as I'm a big fan of the US ones. There were some lovely photos in it but I'd agree with the others that your money will be more wisely spent on the Brit's Guide.
I am planning my first trip to DLP next September (2014) and would really like to get a book for it.
For those saying the 'british' book is better, which one is that? Is there a difference in the year it was published? Have any big changes been made that a 2011 would be outdated?
