Unofficaial Guide vs Tour Guide Mike

As a researchaholic, I purchased several WDW planning guides to prepare for my upcoming trip (including UG). Since I purchased TGM, I haven't given any of them a second look and actually gave most of them away (except the WDW dictionary - UG).

He covers all the same basics of the UG (with a much brighter and more appealing voice in my opinion) - but that's just the first layer.

I love the reviews (one of my favorite things about the UG, too) which are submitted by Mike and also by fellow TGM members. You won't find the over-excited 'company line' that you get in some other guides.

His timeliness absolutely cannot be beat.

His personal attention is like finding a highly experienced gem on a board like this one who interacts with you personally - responding to your questions, thanking you for your input, sharing in the anticipation.

The information is vast and deep. While there are facts and general knowledge that will remain the same from source to source, Mike offers layers of insight beneath the basics. So much so that it can be overwhelming until you learn to break it down a little at a time and focus on the info that is pertinent specifically to you.

I meant to keep this post short and sweet but its difficult to keep from gushing. Suffice it to say that a money-back guarantee make this a risk-free investment that will pay for itself in spades.

I decided I had to go to see Tourguide Mike since so many love him. When I first found out about him, it was only a week or two until the trip.........not really economical at that point, I figured. So, I subscribed yesterday, and I already got a tip I didn't have before! From his reasoning, seems this tip is really going to help me out, and really makes me look forward to the day I'm going to use it as it seems it will make the day much more relaxed. Can't wait to actually try it out.........but wait I will. Anyway, only surfing the site for less than an hour and got a brand new, never heard of before, tip...........and I've been on 4 trips in the past 5 years, and read Unofficial Guide, Official Guide, and Passporter...........looks like TGM really could be just as good as Unofficial for me (I still can't discount how much I learned from them!).

(By the by, can't tell the tip I got according to the subscription agreement, do recommend you go check it out, as he does say you'll get a refund if you don't like his service)

Not familiar with TGM, but I think we've purchased every edition of the UG since they began publishing. I have read through the UG so many times I can quote passages. I have no aversion to TGM, but it is nice to have a book to glance through before bed at night, on the plane, in the hotel room, or any other times I can't access a computer.:earsboy: If you have a laptop, YMMV :D

Micca:

I would imagine this would be easy since the Guide has been 98% exactly the same for many years. :D
