Unlock my Lock

[DISNEY1975]

I was in a race last weekend (modeled after the Amazing Race) and one of the tasks we had to do was unlock one of those dial combination locks (the one where you turn to the right, then to the left, then back to the right.)

I was stuck at that stop for close to an hour before I had the brains to call my brother in law and ask for help. He got my lock unlocked immediately. Lets see if any of you could have done it..

This is what I would have guessed also.

C= 3
J = 10
A = 1
F = 6

In ABC order. So CJ would be a 3 in the 10s place and a 10 in the ones place would make the 3 be a 4.

Since the answer hasn't been revealed yet. If I'm right, it was the first thing that popped into my head to use, however, I could be off base. I just went back re-read & see others thought it too.

Naw, if you hit it in the wrong spot, you just have a big hole in the middle and the dial spins endlessly around and it STILL won't open.
