It does if you already have an email address via a web mail provider like Yahoo, Excite, MSN etc. Just be sure that you log off your email so the next person to use the computer can't get into your mail if he or she has the same provider. On one of our 7 day cruises, I apparently had a preference for the same computer as another person who kept leaving their Yahoo account logged on. Finally, after four days, I sent them an email via their own account saying, "Don't forget to log off or people will be able to use your email just like I am doing right now!"

There is also a nice web site where you can check your email from almost any internet provider. It's www.mail2web.com
All you do is type in your email address and password and you can read it.
If you have teens, the unlimited access is worth the money.
Also, if you are on AOL, you are able to login and use it just as you would at home.
Most internet providers have some kind of web-based client for reading/sending email. You should be able to use that even at sea. Check with your internet provider.
