University

Mhm.
And a lot of the colleges are like community colleges. Most of the stuff they teach at the one where I live is like trade skills and such. It might not seem like it's too hard to get in, but some of the classes only have so many spots. Like say there's only 30 spots for a certain thing, meaning if you want to be a plumber or what have you, you want too look better than everyone else.
And sometimes with the limited amounts of spots, you can end up in the middle of nowhere (like round here, if you want to be an electrician, you end up in the boonies of Nova Scotia).

yep yep.

that's why i'm in a general arts programme instead of the theatre specialist programme that i wanted to be in. all the theatre programmes i applied for look only between 20-30 people (out of like hundreds of applicants) it's really elite and junk.
alot of programmes are like that. it's pretty icky.

Im going to major in psychology. I want to be a psychologist when I grow up. I KNOW it for some reason. Like it's my calling. lol. but I love to help people. I would speacilize in children.

Do you want to be a psychologist or a psychiatrist? Either one is psychology based, but a psychaitrist is a doctor (you have to go through med school, yaddayaddayadda).

Well there's community colleges that don't go past a 2 year degree (associates) then there's the university that have associates, bachelors and masters degrees. If I'm not mistaken.

you forgot Doctorates (ie: PhDs, MDs, etc)

I've got a while...5 years.
But I'd love to be a Psychiatrist. I've wanted to be one for a while now...And I want a PhD. I'll take the extra years for that.
And I absolutely love Social Studies, but my job wouldn't have anything to do with that.
I'm still considering Social Studies though for something.
I've got a while to decide. ;D

Yep, I know. My university doesn't offer past the masters degree, you have to go to graduate school to get a doctorate.

Well that's here, I'm not sure about places outside of where I live. :)

yeah you have to go to grad school for doctorates here too.

most of the colleges here are both undergrad schools and grad schools.. so if you really wanted too, you can do your undergrad AND work on your doctorates all at the same school.. but thats no fun lol... and im jealous for oyu guys with only 5 years...i have about 8 or more >_<

I have 4 years, for my bachelor's degree in...something. Like I said before, I'm thinking a BA in arts but I haven't decided on anything concrete.

Most things round here are either 2 years (that's for college) and 4 years (Uni). Of course it depends on what you're taking.

I'm majoring in Nursing ... most likely at Curry College next fall! My friend and I were both accepted to their Division of Nursing with a pretty good scholarship so in a couple weeks we're going for a private tour and sitting in on some classes. Then after I confirm my love for Curry, in the deposit goes! I can't wait!!

I just found something else out about my university (if anyone still cares, Lol!)

Apparently, first you have to complete an associate degree of your choice (arts, science, applied science, etc). After you graduated with that, you move on to a college of (arts, science, applied science, etc). It's in the same building, 'college' means...like a program. Anyways, I didn't know that before, heh. :goodvibes:

Im surprised i havent seen anyone looking to be some form of business major while looking through here....thats what i am..im an accounting major with a minor in finance at western michigan univ...just started my second semester!

Well, i'm a junior in high school and i can't wait to get away!! I know that I'm going to major in Speech Pathology and minor in History possibly. I have a few colleges in mind. Life does pass you by fast...when you're having fun!!

Okay, so I've been researching and I'm pretty sure I'll do a major in phsychology. It's the perfect degree for the job I'm interested in, and seems really interesting.

Yeah, it will be absolutely perfect for the career I'm interested in. :goodvbies: I'm thinking I might do a minor in Spanish Language, since it also would be incredibly useful for the job I'm interested in.

I'm workin' towards the future! Lol.

if you're a psychiatrist, I belive you end up with a M.D. because you're a doctor allowed to prescribe medicines and stuff.
