Obv the ticket structure is meant to be a deterrent and it will work to temper demand. For me personally, there is no way I am taking the family all that way to visit Epic 1 time and I am not buying 2 ticket packages. So, I am looking at 2027-ish. C'est la vie. Epic isn't going anywhere.

I could be totally wrong but I don't think you will need to wait nearly that long for multi day tickets to Epic. I bet early 2026 (post Holiday travel) will have them. Just my 2 cents.

I'm the odd one who never likes to be at opening day for this sort of thing. All I can think about was when the Skyliner stopped for 3 hours during the first few months of operations and people had evacuated with a cherry picker 🤣 Or how the line to even get into Toy Story Land was hours long in the middle of summer with no shade.

No hate towards those willing to go the extra mile to experience everything sooner, that's just not my idea of a good time.

I originally really wanted to go in 2025 but then didn't know the opening date and then didn't want to visit too close to that once it was officially released. I'm waffling on if I still want to go in 2025 or if I want to wait until 2026. Mine is crowd concern and wanting a better idea of how things in the park go.

I don't like the 1 day limitation but I don't like to be limited in general lol but I understand it and it wouldn't stop me from going. However, and this is a big one to me, we don't visit Orlando often anyhow. That is a different outlook than someone who goes often enough or was planning on going and now is balking at that 1-day thing. You and I can wait it out looking out for future announcements on those adjustments to that ticket option. But I understand for those who go multiple times a year or at least once a year would quite irked at it because they don't want to wait around and they don't want to spend more to get additional days.

Granted it was only a land and a land with only 1 ride because the other ride got delayed but we went several weeks after Galaxy's Edge opened up in DL. I really wasn't planning that, was pretty apprehensive about the crowds but my husband was already working temporarily in Long Beach and I was visiting him so we made the decision to go. The crowds didn't show up there in CA, the reception wasn't quite as high there with only 1 ride at that time and the land didn't impress nearly as much but I think it would have been different in WDW so I'm glad we went to DL's. If my husband hadn't been there already in CA no way would we have booked a special trip there (or WDW for that matter) for Galaxy's Edge that soon after opening. I'm glad we were able to do it in CA because 6 months later the pandemic happened...

It turned out okay but we just got back from Japan (as I'm still dealing with jet lag presently lol) and at the back end of our trip was TDR, we planned this trip prior to the announcement of the opening date of Fantasy Springs but once it was announced that it was opening in June I kinda had a sigh of relief that at least a few months would have gone on before our trip. I would have preferred more time but I was able to get a good idea of which attractions were main ones in Fantasy Springs and get an idea on best ways to get in.

I'm a lot like you in that I'm not normally wanting opening day, if I had the choice.

Yeah - I just figure its something we may not see again for another 20 or 25 years - so it would be cool - but I am also not going to loose sleep over it if I cant get tickets. If it was not memorial day weekend - which is already crazy - I'd be a bit more motivated.
I know if I am there opening day I may not get much of a chance to do anything - and there will probably be a ton of annoying influencers there - but it will also be an experience\spectacle\whatever you want to call it. There most likely will be people who have already done everything during the soft openings - so its not like we are trying to be first.

I'm thinking about how much I want to spoil myself on stuff. On rides I'm unsure if I can handle (largely my motion sickness) I usually try to watch POV videos on YouTube so I can get a better understanding...I'm still probably going to want to do that for some of these though I can rule out ones already like that have spinning. But at the same on other things since I am wanting to wait a bit I might try to stay away from some details for a bit. Restaurants, like the vampire steakhouse, I want the details on that lol.

Does anyone know if I purchased a multiple day, multiple park ticket with 1 day to epic universe and then later was able to purchase an individual one day ticket to add a second day to epic - could I start the multiple day ticket and then use the one day ticket in the middle of that use (switch back and forth) or do they all have to be used in succession?

The two tickets would be separate entities. As long as you use all the days on the multi-day ticket before it expires, you should be fine to shuffle a day ticket into the mix.

So far with the packages Universal says you don't have to specify the date you plan to visit Epic. If you bought a single day ticket my assumption (take that for what you will) is that it would only be good for that date you selected but that may not be how Universal handles 1 day tickets, guess we'll find how if APs have a different rule come Thursday.

The multi-day ticket would still fall under normal rules applying to the expiration date of the ticket such as if I go to buy a 3 day ticket say for May 22nd the validity date is any 3 days between May 22nd and May 27th (I was also checking this up against the sales page for specifically including Epic in that multi-day ticket). Another example is a 5 day ticket starting May 22nd is any 5 days from May 22nd thru May 29th. So this is just an assumption based on that but I would think so long as you used up your days on your multi-day ticket before the expiry date with the current rules of not having to use them consecutively you'd be okay to do what you proposed.

The issue people may run into is that expiry rule. A 5 day ticket for example includes 4 days at USF and IOA and 1 day at Epic leaving only 3 days of wiggle room (8 days total includes the 22nd, 5 days of park days) so putting in a 1-day ticket in between that doesn't alter your existing expiration date rules and leaves less flexibility for when you'd want to visit each of the parks.

This is the downer to the more restrictive expiration dates that Universal now has to use your ticket after the updated the terms several years back.

Wow, what a thorough explanation - much appreciated! Thank you so much!

This is exactly what I'm going to do in two days. I'm going to buy several date-based tickets within the range of my current packages. If they don't allow me to make the purchase, then I guess the tickets will have to be used in succession.

Great plan! Thanks for the info!

Would you rather have this option or Epic-only ticket at $513/day? It's not a money grab if people are willing to pay for the product.
But if Disney offers a fast pass for $400 a day, it’s a money grab even if people are willing to pay.

People aren't willing to pay the $400 for LL. That product is DOA. People who are rich want the privilege associated with a tour.
Disney can and will adjust the price, and types of guests eligible to purchase the product, as necessary. The $400 price, for a slow park day, may be DOA.
I assume with all the. 3 day packages being used for EPIC on 5/22, 5/23 and 5/24 may be quite empty. And vice versa for studios/islands.
And I'm assuming Universal will have.no problem filling the parks with single day tickets and later multi day EPIC tickets.

An empty park on opening weekend..Fantasyland is a few miles south.

Edited to add Universal will have issues if one or more lands aren't ready to open

Just to mention it - of course it depends on how sensitive you are - but this is a kiddie ride - the company that build this makes two version sand this is the tame one. Still might be too much for some folks with motion sickness - but just to mention it - its pretty slow and not all that crazy a spin from what I've read. My dad could not do Cat in the Hat (it used to spin a lot more) so I understand people can be affected by even a kiddie ride.

I don't see it selling much for any park other than MK - but since its only once per ride I think its way overpriced.
They also limited it only to the high end properties.
Had they opened it up to everyone (and maybe they will) - I suspect those who cant afford it will be the ones to buy it.

As you point out the vey wealthy will get a tour and those who are well off will look at the value of it and probably say not worth it.
They can buy a couple of LLs for the rides they really want.
Also these wealthy folks that Disney targets - there is a limited supply - and of those how many are going to go to Disney more than a handful of times? I suspect there is a very small subset who go to Disney every year.

As a solo traveler - if it was Unlimited and priced similar to Universal I'd consider it.
Also - lets not kid ourselves - we may see express for Epic to be in the same ballpark - if they offer it - which they have alluded to.
