Universal, WDW and DCL mega holiday report

Regal Eagle

For lunch we went to Regal Eagle the garlic bread brisket sandwich was lovely the brisket was still dry but overall better than Polite Pig.

But the highlight was the Banana Pudding soo good!

Primo Piatto - Riviera resort

The food here was absolutely lovely so lovely that we all ate it without taking pictures!

For breakfast the Lemon and Blueberries pancakes are to die for I'm already on a hunt for a copycat recipe!

The dinner was also good the veggie skewers were lovely and so was the tuna salad.

Bar Riva

This was also great we had the melted brie cheese with roasted tomatoes YUM and the burger with mushrooms and swiss cheese delicious.

For our last dinner we went back to Hollywood Brown Derby to have their fillet and Cobb salad one more time.

It was a hit once again!

Overall I felt the food was not as good as 2019, the customer service and cleanliness was really lacking and I didn't feel the magic at all.

We liked our stay at Caribbean Beach, we were in Jamaica and it was super convenient to both the skyliner and bus stop and we never had to wait more than max 10 min for busses which were never crowded. The only thing I missed was passing by the lobby to soak in more of the resort vibe. You really bypass that unless you need to go to the quick service. I also didn't like that you are so close to the car bays it takes away the magic of the Disney bubble.
But yes after going to the Poly, CBR was still a great option.

Disney Fantasy

This was our first cruise ever and although not my favourite holiday type we really enjoyed the Cruise vibe.
We were really impressed by the food there were some really good food options which I will talk about below.

I terms of stops we didn't enjoy either Lighthouse point or Castaway so I'm not envisaging ever going there again but we will definitely like to try an Alaskan cruise or something else more interesting.
Onto the food while we fly back to Australia...

Animators Plate
Food her was really nice the first time we visited albeit went a bit downhill on our second visit. The trufle pasta was really lovely as it was the beacon and cauliflower soup, the prosciutto was yummy and the crostini Stick was delicious. I would not get the tunna again but a very meal overall

Breakfast at Royal Palace

I only took a picture of the menu here.
The french toast was wonderful and so was the salmon eggs Benedict.

We went here multiple times, I'm not really a buffet type of person too chaotic.
My only comment is that it shuts too early 9.30 on port days! Given that everything finishes so late at night I think they could make it until 10.30 at least!
Mickey churro waffles were also available on the last sea day.

Lighthouse Point
We tried all the smoothies at sandsational smoothies on lighthouse point and they were one worse than the other. I can't believe I paid above and beyond for these pre made drinks. I was in the hope that they would make the smoothies from scratch but nope just pre made junk which didn't even match the description of the board. Not recommended!

Overall lighthouse point was a massive disappointment.
I really do think they built it on the wrong side of the island the back in facing the open Atlantic ocean so the sea it's rough and prone to currents, rips and wind it's not protected at all.
The area where you get the drinks was filthy (refer to photo), there was a huge line to get food and basically there is nothing to do. Especially for kids over 10 and adults. But even for the younger ones there is just an overcrowded water play area and that's it. Given that the sea gets red and black flags often due to the open ocean all the kids are crowding the splash area.
This is not a stop where I would be looking to return.

Castaway key

I mean I might be picky here but the water was really not what I thought I would get on the Bahamas. It was cloudy and simply filthy both my daughter and husband were stung by sea lice.
Also not that much to do here either.
I'm used to Italian/Spanish all inclusive summer resorts were the entertainment team has constantly something on (water gym, beach tournaments etc) they also go around and let people know what's happening and try to get people involved. There was nothing of such here. Just a beach with dirty water. The stingrays excursion is a scam. It's just a part of beach closed off there they keep some stingrays captive and you can swim with them. They water bike is also a scam you can't get into the water you have to stay in the corridor they have set up for you same with the snorkeling excursion.

Overall I'm not planning to ever go back. There are so many better places in the world to spend my money on and get a better experience for the same kind of thing. Look no further than Sardinia or the Balearic islands.

Enchanted garden and Royal court

I didn't take many photos just because the food was so so good the fried brie and while chocolate bread pudding were on a different level. The mushroom ravioli and the lobster ravioli were also excellent.
As ment before the food was certainly the highlight of the trip.

The only thing we disliked and really didn't understand was the handover of the envelopes with the tips, this was so unnecessary and culturally very awkward for us. I mean sure more than happy to tip over and above our great servers but we really didn't understand why we needed to hand them these envelopes, just weird and I understand that this didn't work on the Australian cruises.

As mentioned above we enjoyed our cruise experience. We would like to experience it again in a place like Alaska where we otherwise would not go.

In terms of people the Fantasy was probably at the maximum amount of people of what I would describe as comfortable. I really can't see how it would be a pleasure to be on one of those massive ships with thousands people around, sharing such small spaces.

Before I finish I will say that the best food item was where they have sandwiches, burgers and pizza on deck 11.

The toasted prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes panini was awesome. I can't believe there are people wasting calories eating that awful pizza or burgers where they could instead eat this! Please try it if you have a change I asked to make it in the ciabatta bread and toast it really well.

Finally the warm cookies they serve at room service were a huge let down, just awful don't bother.
