Hi,
So, hard to believe but we leave in 8 days!!!:banana::banana:
As always with us, there is something left to the last minute and it's the Universal tickets!:scared1: Have been trying to decide the best option for us, and have now realised it is probably too late to have them delivered. So can anyone tell me the best place/price to pick them up when we are there please? We have decided to go for the 14 day 2 Universal park option as DS really wants to go to the Harry Potter part
Also, as we are going to the coast for the first few days, we will need a toll pass. Are they already in the hire cars, or do we have to request one? I have read you can buy Sun Passes in Walmart, but knowing my luck, I would go through a toll on the way to buy one!!:rotfl2:
TIA :goodvibes xx

Which coast are you heading for?

We have never used a toll pass always pay cash. The 528 towards the East Coast and Cocoa Beach has cash tolls. No tolls on the I-4 towards the west coast (Clearwater, St Petes, Sarasota etc).

The only cashless tolls are around Miami at the moment.

You won't need a toll pass as there are no cashless tolls, unless you plan to use the Florida turnpike in Miami-Dade county (or the Express Lane in downtown Tampa).

For Universal Tickets, I would recommend www.attractiontix.com - I have used them several times before, for various attractions, and they will provide a voucher which you can print off and exchange at the parks for your actual tickets. If you use Quidco, you can actually get cashback on any purchase through them also.

Hi,
We are going to Hutchinson Island which is sort of down from Vero Beach near Port St Lucie . It looks pretty straightforward on the map, but says partial toll road?:confused3 x Also will probably be coming back on the Florida Turnpike xx

You will onyl encounter tolls if you use the Turnpike (the Osceola Parkway has tolls but not on the bit you will be using, I don't think - and they are cash and manned anyway). Using the I-95 would mean you avoid the tolls altogether and would only add 10 minutes to the journey. We use that road whenever when we drive to/from Miami.

Thanks for that, and for the info on the tickets! Feels so much safer having a printed voucher :) xx Now just the travel insurance to sort! So annoying I have to get individual ones for the kids now!! xx

Over 18s? I used Protect Your Bubble for my daughter when we went in March as she wasn't covered under our family travel insurance (being over 18).

for your car hire.
Rent with a company that has an automatic sunpass opt-in, such as Alamo

just in case you hit an unmaned toll, or if you're out of quarters, it won't cost you an arm to go through the sunpass lane

just read this https://www.sunpass.com/rentalcar

Again I agree with Both Moderators ( Post 2 & 3 )

Just Play safe and have coins ready .

In any case ..... going through a manned or cash only booth just adds

a few moments to your journey time.

Hi:wave2:
We have booked through Alamo.:thumbsup2 Do you know how I would opt-in? I don't remember seeing anything about it.

it's all explained on the page I gave the link for, just scroll down until you find Alamo.

you're automatically opted in, nothing to do at the desk.

It will only activates when you go through a toll using a sunpass lane. It won't activate when you pay (coins or manned booth)
it activates for 24hrs for a fee (see sunpass page for current pricing)

Our relatives rented Alamo, last week they drove thru a toll by mistake instead of paying cash. It will take $3.95(daily fee) + toll fee from their credit card.
Its all automatic, nothing to do as long as you leave a credit card on record.
