Would you take a 3 year old to Universal? If so would she be able to do anything there?

The last time we went to Universal, we had my 16 month old DD and my 3 year old nephew. Obviously, they didn't get to ride Jurassic or Mummy, but they both loved Universal. In fact, my DD didn't scream once which was a whole different experience from DL. They did have a little water park thing for the kids to play on and they could go on the tram tour. Parts of that could be scary for kids, but you will pretty much pick up on most of what is going to happen next so you can sheild/distract your little one. They got to meet Dora and Spongebob which they loved. Actually, one of the cutest pics from our entire trip was taken at Universal. My DD and nephew were sitting in their double stroller and Beetlejuice stopped to talk to them. He talked to them for 5 minutes or so and both of them were as happy as can be. DD screamed at Winnie the Pooh, but Beetlejuice she loved. Go figure. :confused3 This was back in 2004, so a lot may have changed. Anyway, I hope some of my rambling helped.

i went to universal last year and from the looks of it a 3 yr old will be just fine because they have nick jr and 3d shows for kidds to see.

We just returned from a trip to southern California that included a day at Universal and IMHO I don't think it is worth the money for a 3 year old. They may get to see a few characters that they recognize but almost all the rides and attractions are geared to older kids. The characters are either roaming the park haphazardly or only come out for short periods of time around the ride that they are associated with, so you never know who you will see. I have a 6 year old and a 9 year old and they liked the Simpsons Ride and Shrek 3-D and the Waterworld and Animal Shows and they were excited to see Spongebob but a lot of the attractions and shows were either not too interesting to them or too scary for them. We did the studio tour and even they were too young to appreciate it. Backdraft and the Special Effects Show could be scary for a preschooler. There is a lot for adults to see and do but again, this is only my opinion, if you're looking for something for a young child to enjoy, Universal is probably not it.
