Universal Studios Chat: Summer Edition

Hey everybody! It's been a while since we had our randomness thread, so I thought I'd start one back up! You know the drill, but in case of any "noobs" I'll explain: Since we do not have a "Community Board" for US/IOA, we just post any random stuff in these "chats."

One of my aunts will not be renewing her annual pass She got the family APs for Busch Gardens-Sea World-Adventure Island, but I can't blame her...four kids...needed something for them...the kids didn't have AP for US/IOA, so it was basically for her and her fiance. BUT, we're hoping to take them so they can go on Mummy and so they can see the Beetlejuice Show (they've been APH for a loooong time, yet NEVER saw the show. Go figure...). We ended up buying my Grandmother, and two of my other aunts AP's. Aren't we the BEST??? LOL!!

I'm going insane...a while back my sweet $200 lens for camera broke...I haven't had it for over a month...ack!!! I'm stuck with my smaller one...which means I can't zoom in as closely (the HORROR! LOL)...but we sent it away, and *hopefully* I'll get it back soon...I feel so lost without it....well, sorta!

I just bought this kewlio frame from a Bealls Home store...it holds 41 pictures! So cool...a good way to present some of my best pics from Universal, right? I thought so....

So, how has everyone been? What's everyone's plans for 4th of July? I'm going to hang out with a friend as we drive around FL to a couple different occassions, which will be interesting.

Going to Universal tomorrow...hope some of buddy ol' pals are there! I hear my friend "Bob" will be...so that'll be kewlio!

I checked out *************.com, pretty neat stuff! Maybe your smilie was censored because of the word "hijacked" and terrorist issues?? Just a lame guess.

I am still in limbo land waiting to be able to plan more of my '05 vacation. Reading on this board daily makes waiting an awful thing!

On a brighter side--school's out for summer....can I get an "Amen!" Teachers get excited about summer vacation too!

And, would you ever guess what is on my lap as I type?? A baby raccoon! My nefew found this abandoned baby...had it three days now. I "babysat" last night. He is just the cutiest thing...Marvin is his name, cause he was "starvin." (He is bottle-fed) He is VERY playful right now...chewing on everything! But when he is sleepy and you rub his back or ears, he purrs!! Too cute.

So, what's everyone else up too??

Well, on our way to Universal in the end of May, the engine in my Explorer blew up so we rented a U-haul to get it to the hotel (we were less than 20 minutes away) , had a great weekend. Got up Sunday morning to leave, get in the same spot going south that we broke down going north & the U_haul broke down!!!
After a long wait & a tow truck ride home, we are all fine, our wallets have a big ache ( I needed a whole new engine) & I had to drive my DH car to work for two weeks.
WHEW!
other than that, DH & I just got our vacation time for October approved !!! which is a GREAT thing !

But I will be there next week for the Spiderman 2 premiere!

Haven't been to Universal for TWO YEARS, but I'll be there July 15-20. Can't wait to see Shrek and the Mummy.
I'm enjoying having the summer off (I'm a school counselor). Just returned from the Dominican Republic. Next stop UNIVERSAL.
Then a short trip to Canada in August.

Hey there! Where did you go in the Dominican Republic? Did you enjoy it? I am going there with my church and it is a mission trip, so I am sure it's different from yours, but I would love to hear about it. PM me if you can!

Hello, friends! Seems like everyone is having a great summer. But is the summer weather taking so long to get here, or is it just us up in the northern part of the states? Seems like we've had a max high of 80 so far, and my tan is seriously behind for the end of June! We've had too much rain!

We are anxiously awaiting HHN this year. Who else plans to be there on Halloween night?

Our summer plans:

July 3-7: Detroit for a roller hockey tournament (TORHS)

July 18-24: Cincinnati for a roller hockey tournament (NARCh)

August 10-24: California...67 roller coasters and some surfer dudes!!!!! Look out Hollywood Mummy, here we come.

Looks like we'll be spending more time in the USA than here in Canada for the summer.

I hear ya! I am in central NY and summer has been slow coming. The last few days it has only been in the mid 60's and very chilly at night. I HATE NY!! Anyone have a spare palm tree I could live under???

Hey IMGONNABE40! I might be there for a couple hours on July 4th...not positive yet though... Hope you get either room at RPR! Great view!

I had the best day today. Let's just say........6 Beetlejuice Shows, 1 GB Show, and rode Mummy twice...that was my day. lol And yes, "Bob" was there...and talking to Keriann, who they both said I have abandoned the GBs for the Hot Blonde Dracula over at the GYR..... Well....I haven't *completely* abandoned them...will always be a fan of my 'Bustas!

Wow! I haven't felt weather in the mid 60's since about March or so. I live in the south---Mississippi--and before we moved here we lived in Florida and we have even lived in Arizona. Not sure if I know what cold weather feels like!
It has been about 85 here, but the humidity is awful. I miss the Florida weather. The temp. may have been higher but the humidity wasn't so bad. It seems hotter here at 85 than it does in Florida at 100.
It also rains here a lot...and I don't mean a Florida "summer shower" either. I mean, pours! And it doesn't make the humidity seem any better either.
SIGH! Oh, how I miss Florida!
I have been begging my DH to consider moving back to Florida. He says he'll consider it in a few years. I am counting down the days...I am going to try to hold him to it!
Wish me luck on that.

BTW, if anyone has 2 spare palm trees, I would also like one to live under!

Those *lovely* Florida summer showers cancelled a Beetlejuice Show yesterday...pffffft...but oh well....they did a Meet and Greet, and I got to be with my boyz....Wolfy (Aaooo) and my Hot Blonde Dracula

Anyway, I had my first day of my filmmaking course. So far it's pretty good. It's long though...Starts at 9AM and gets over a 3PM...for the summer, that's a huge chunk of the day -- gone. But hey, it's worth it as of right now... I need to PM someone....hmmm damo perhaps? or AlexandNessa? Seahag? Time for some Girl Talk LOL

Ohhh something's going on you don't know about, in that picture. but yes....I did not mind at all...I kept saying, "The last show better not be cancelled...or, it can be cancelled.....but ONLY if they have a Meet and Greet....." (It was the last show before a cast change because of the large number of shows, so I wanted to see the dracula again...lol) *phew* it worked out.
