Family and I have visited Universal...once, back in 2005. We loved it but haven't had a chance to visit until now! :cool1:

I called the 1-800 number for quotes on vacation packages and they've gone up a bit since '05.

Any idea where I can get great deals on either HRH or Royal Pacific rooms and tickets with FOTL passes? Thanks! :goodvibes

If you get a room at RPR or the HRH your room key is your FOTL pass cause that is one of the perks of staying onsite and I would look at the lowes website for room prices and universalorlando.com for your tickets .
Hope this helps :thumbsup2

The lowest rate I found was through AAA- but I called RPR/Loews directly, got their "best" rate, and then asked for the AAA rate, which was $30 less (we are only staying one night). If you are staying a few days, you might get a better deal. Try Southwest Airlines Vacations )if you live near a SW airport).

I ended up getting an AP and it saved us about $40 a night on the room at the RPH plus we were upgraded to a water view room and since we are staying 4 nights that pretty much paid for the extra cost by itself. I looked at the packages and was not too impressed, most of them were more expensive then doing it yourself plus you have a better cancellation policy if you don't do the packages from the vacation group I feel.

If you want to compare the AP rates you can put in the code APH when checking prices so you can determine the best deal for you.

Hope you have a great time! :banana::banana:

Thanks everyone! I'm definitely taking everyone's advice and then deciding the best course of action. I'm getting that *excited* feeling now! :cool1:

you'll find your best rates for rph.
do as the others stated and call and talk to a tm.

they will give you the best rate that is available.

depending on the dates you are going, you will find fantastic deals, especially for now and thru the summer.

i know you'll have a great time at the darkside!!

Okay, couple of questions...what does the darkside mean and what's a tm?

BTW...I'm still so excited! :yay: The only bad thing is now I have to wait till August! LOL!

Disney = Motherland
Universal = The Dark Side
TM = Team member

You guys are too funny! I love it!

And....I think I'm leaning toward purchasing an AP.

Quick question, if I'm the only one in our party to purchase an AP, do I still get the discounts (this is what I'm assuming but I want to be sure) or does everyone in the party have to have an AP?

Only one AP is required to get any discounts.

Like Metro said,only one AP is required.

Do you have AAA? That qualifies for in park and eatery discounts as well if you and your party should split up!

Have a great time and remember, we like reports.....and pictures. Lots and lots of pictures :dance3:

OK, here's a question (not to highjack), I want to start planning our 2010 trip when can I start calling about vacation packages, we're going in Nov?

We found a package deal on the website under "deals" - included hotel room and tickets. While the resorts at universal are quite a bit more than we would usually pay - the front of the line pass easily justifies the cost!! Unlike the passes you can purchase (at about $40 / person / day) at universal ..... they are good for unlimited times on the same ride. When you get off spiderman and MIB .... you will want to get right back on!!!
:woohoo:
