Universal Question

We will be staying at Dinsey but we want to do one day in Universal. My son is a huge Harry Potter fan and he is dying to see that. I had no idea how expensive the tickets were. We decided to leave DD and DH back at Disney. DD doesn't care, and that gives them some time together.

Is there any discount tickets out there to Universal? And, does any one know how much a cab ride is from Disney to Universal? It is worth it to rent a car for the day, or just take a cab?

I think that I saw on Allears.net ticket packages for Universal that included transportation from Disney resorts - Adult tickets were $109 (I think) for the day.

If you rent a car, it is a quick and easy drive to Universal. You also drive right by an Outlet Mall that has a Disney store in it with incredible deals - there were items that we saw at the park that were 1/8 of the price at the Outlet store.

If you are in a rewards program of any kind, double check to see if you can get Universal tickets through it. There are a couple of Airmiles programs here in Canada that offer Universal tickets so it would be worth checking out to see if your rewards programs also offer them. We are doing one day at IOA and I was able to get our tickets through the rewards program for free so I just have to pay for parking and food.
