Last year (our first trip) we were able to see Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures quite easy in 2days.

We spent most of day one in IOA riding Hulk first and then working our way round anti-clockwise which meant that the park seemed dead until we got round to Toon Lagoon. Then we went for a late lunch at Hard Rock before riding The Simpsons in US.

Day two allowed us to ride Twister, Shrek, Mummy, Earthquake and Jaws with small/no queues because everyone rushed to The Simpsons, which we had already experienced.

However this year we're visiting in September (Not June) when the parks close earlier and Rip Ride Rocket should be open. So i thought i'd ask firstly, what's you park plan in Sept/times when the parks close earlier? And, what do you think your plan will be once RRR is open?

I'm not sure whether we should ride RRR straight away or head to the Simpsons to ride a few times before a queue and worry about RRR later??...

Assuming the HR3 will be open in September, I would ride it first thing as the lines will be L O N G for quite a while. Of course...that might help with lines for the other attractions if people are waiting to ride the new coaster.

WE'll be arriving in Sept. for our first trip to Universal..will be hitting Universal Studios on a late Wednesday afternoon after check-in - will probably have just a couple of hours since the park closes at 6p - so which rides do you think we should do at US that first night? we'll be staying at HRH so we get the privlage of getting on the rides quickly...

Thinking thursday hit IOA for the day -

then Friday hit both parks -perhaps IOA in the morning for a couple of hours..hit the pool for a couple of hours then hit US at night again?

Saturday- we'll spend the day at Universal Studios since we have a relative meeting us - she gets in free as she's a teach er in floriday - if we show our room key will she be able to get right on the rides w/us w/out a wait?

No...every guest must have a key to show.

sorry, that won't be possible.

each person has a room key to use for the express lines.
the hotel guest has their name on the key card.

to use the express line, you need to have the hotel key card or have the express pass that is bought.

You're allowed 5 people per room, right? Can't she give the relative's name at check-in and get an extra room key for her (assuming she doesn't already have 5 people)?

Yup, that's what I'd do. Just get her a room key.

5 people are allowed in the rooms.

the catch is, you can have only 2 people 18 and over without additional charges.
once you have 3 adults, 18 and over, you are charged for the 3rd adult as $25 per night on your hotel room charges if you add her in the room with you.

granted you only have 2 kids with the parents making it 4 to the room.
by adding a 5th person that is over 18, you will incur an additional charge.

if you desire to add the person for one night only, it would be cheaper than paying for the ep that are restricted.

if you are going during a low crowd day, ep's that you buy, could be a waste of money in the long run.
