Universal Orlando Ticket Question

I tried finding an answer to my question in the forum search but nothing I found matched exactly what I need to know.

We were gifted tickets to Universal Studios Orlando. Specifically a 2 day park to park ticket. Is there any way to add on another day (to make them a 3 day park to park ticket) once we arrive?

The tickets were purchased through AAA, and it says on them in the fine print that they can not be refunded or exchanged at AAA. Although I have not called AAA to ask, I am presuming the "no exchange" means I cannot upgrade these tickets to a 3 day pass.

Hoping someone on here has been in a similar situation and has an answer.

I'd suggest calling Universal - if you can upgrade, you'd most likely have to do so at Universal directly.

Let us know what you are told on the value of gifted tickets

could be UO will use the value of the 2 day tickets and either give you of an affordable price to add one more day to them

or be told buying a one day park to park ticket be an option

I’m not current on present UO ticket prices except for what some ticket specials in the past

Hope you get mummy dust and a cheap/ free deal for the extra day you need

Double check the pricing on adding a day vs going to an annual pass. Depending on the value they give to your ticket, the annual pass might be cheaper.

I bought Powerpass annual passes through AAA. When I got to the gate/ticket booth, I decided I wanted to upgrade one of the Powerpass to Preferred. They were able to give me the value of the Powerpass, then charge me the difference for upgrading. I kept my few dollars of savings from the initial AAA purchase. A month later, I decided to upgrade the other pass to preferred as well and they were again, able to upgrade me by charging me the difference. Based on that, I think they can probably upgrade your tickets at the gate.

A quick update - I have been trying to reach Universal by phone. Tuesday evening I was on hold for 2 hours 10 minutes but finally had to hang up. I needed sleep.

I'm currently on hold again, and I am at 32 minutes. Here's to hoping I'm not on hold as long as last night, especially without any outcome.

Update: I again called Universal to find an answer to my question. Estimated wait time was ~1 hour.

While waiting, I decided to contact them via social media (just to see if I could get an answer). I got a 90% there answer, but it was what I needed.

In short - Yes, Universal will allow me to upgrade to a better ticket, at the gate. The one detail they could not tell me was the price I'd pay. That's okay. I mostly wanted to know IF it was possible.
