Universal on 4th of July

Good Morning! It's been a while since i've visited this board, but since me and my DBF will be visiting in July, I figured it was time to start doing research!

My question is this...how are the fireworks on the 4th of July? I read on the US website that they put them off at IOA/US and City Walk all at the same time. I also notice that they have "preferred viewing" available for $10.

Is the Preferred viewing a good idea? With fireworks going all around you, I can't imagine there'd be a "bad seat" any where.

Some opinions please as to how the firework display is, and whether or not it would be best to purchase the preferred viewing tickets (which don't go on sale for a couple more months)

Awwwwwwwww, come on! Hasn't anyone been to US on the 4th of July? Hey, maybe we'll be there all by ourselves with no crowd!!

We visited Jul 4th about 4 years ago. My DSis was in a wheel chair and we wished we would have stayed back at the HRH and watch them from there. All I can say is that it was extremely crowded on CW so I would try to stake your spot out early or pay the $10 if it is important to you.I can't really say one viewing area was better than another as long as you had a decent viewof the sky. We will be visiting again this year and may conisder paying the $10 pp fee.

We where there July 06, we where in US when the fireworks started , just before them we where on some rides as the queues disappeared to watch the fire works, coming out at the end was a nightmare at City walk .
The 4th July blowout with the preferred seating might be better, as we are planning this this year when we are there, for $10 there is entertainment and cookout plus there is limited numbers for this,so may be better
