Universal Military Salute!!

This is our situation. We purchased the Universal tickets back in August 08 for the August 09 vacation. *BTW, we got them for $78 each at Ft Eustis in Newport News Va. :thumbsup2 * Anyway, we figured we would get the free one and save it for a later vacation.

PERFECT. DH is going to Ft. Eustis for two weeks next week. I told him about this deal and to please check the MWR office and grab the tix. We don't have an MWR office in Oregon (closest is 2+ hours away in WA). Thanks for posting this!

Be sure to use the free this year, because it will expire in December. The ones you bought at Ft Eustis in 2008 shouldn't have an expiration date.

Not too many of the ITT/MWRs "carry" the tickets, but if they are doing their job, they should be able to order them for you! Stateside at least...I'm not sure about OCONUS though, like Italy.

Alaska is considered an overseas base. So she couldn't order them. She checked. Thanks though. It's kind of crappy how the ITT stateside have better benenfits that us. Really doesn't make sense to trun away
business these days.:upsidedow

Yeah, that is what I meant but did not communicate properly. We are using the free one in august and saving the bought one for the later vacation.:upsidedow

You got some great information from that flyer! So I visited our MWR and ITT Office and got one. I also noticed that the offer is for U.S. Military members only. Not a problem though, since Universal is showing their appreciation for all of the men and women who have served proudly for the USA!

I just stopped by our Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Department on post, and they handed me a new flyer that advertises Universal Orlando's Military Salute. Free 2-park Unlimited Admission Ticket for Active Duty/Retired Service Members, and save $35 on each ticket for family and friends!! The offer is available through June 28th, 2009, and the tickets are good for up to 6 days from first use. Tickets are valid through 12/18/09.

    :cool1:

Contact your local MWR or Shades of Green for more info!

Does anyone have cost info for the family members? I couldn't find a 7 day ticket price on Universal's website. We only planned on going one day (maybe two) during our July trip to Disney but maybe we'd lengthen the trip depending on the price of the tickets for myself and our niece.

I see there is a $35 savings for the family tickets but is this based on a 7 day ticket, etc?

Thanks,
Melissa

The flyer says *Savings based on Universal Orlando Resort theme parks front gate Adult 2 Park Unlimited Ticket retail price of $124.99...sooooo, I'm thinking it would be around 89.99.

Has anyone been to the ticket office at SOG to pick-up the US "free park pass for military" yet?

Just checking. We will be staying at SOG for the disney portion of our vacation starting next week and was curious if anyone has done this.

I will post my experience after the fact to let you know how it worked in case there's no replies.:thumbsup2

BTW, still waiting for my superbowl voucher!

The flyer states family and friends. We are going to Universal in June with my sister in law and brother-in-law (who is retired military). Is there a limit on how many he can get? There are a total of 11 of us going, including him. I have a free one coming from the Super Bowl and even if it saves us $10, that would be a savings of $40 for our family alone. Is there a website to go to to read more info about this offer?

I am so glad that Universal is going this. I think people are finally realizing what our military personnel put on the line for their country! God Bless The USA!

Just giving an update for those US military outside the US. I have someone here at our ITT looking into the situation and hopefully she will not forget about us and call us back soon with an answer.

I just contacted USO guest services about this and was told the offer has been extended from June 28th through Dec. Can anyone confirm this?

We don't arrive until August. Thanks. :goodvibes

Yes, it has been extended until Dec. 18th. When I called our local ITT office to order our tickets, I was told they had just gotten word that it was extended.
