Universal meets, Friday, May 21 (update 5/17 -- time change!)

Barry - One other question!! The group I am with only has one person who is a Preferred Pass holder; we made the reservation for the evening with hers, as the rest of us had the regular (not preferred) annual passes. Michelle can't get to the park before around 7:30 - so will they just let us wait because she made the reservation for our whole group in her name?

Hope so!

In any case, we will be making the 12:00 meeting!:sunny:

Just in case they wanna be Nazis about guests' entry (ie: 1 guest per APH), we should be there by 8-8:30 and could get 2 Dis'ers in.
We checked on the $20 entry and it doesn't apply to Power Passes (what my daughters' friend has).

Will be there at 12 noon meet!
Mummy Krishna!!

h20jag - thanks for the info - We had already called about the$20 thing, as two of the people we will have in our group are US virgins, and will be there with 3 day passes. The $20 thing is if a person has no other type of entry pass. But thanks again for info!:teeth:

The two "newbies" we have coming with us are both pumped, and I am hoping we can really show them a great time! We are going to be at HR Club level, which is a great experience in itself:smooth:

I could've sworn it was for Preferred only. I'd double check, just to be on the safe side...

Like Princess Michelle, I'll be there in spirit also! Have fun all who are going....and report back over the weekend for those of us who need our Mummy fix until we can get there ourselves. I'd love to be there to meet so many of you & put faces with the names. T-19 days for us!:bounce:

The invitation says: "Be there as Universal Studios re-opens its gate just for 2-PARK PREFERRED ANNUAL PASSHOLDERS and their guests."

Guests is plural. No number of guests limit was listed on the invitation.

I will be there for the 7:00 PM meet.

I would love to put faces to names! Have fun!!:hyper:

I can't believe the day is finally here for the Mummy to officially open. Hope you all have fun.

Finall call!

I might be running a bit late. I have to take a blood test tomorrow that I didn't study for. I will endeavor to arrive at noon, if not earlier. If not, call me on my cellphone and see where I am.

Don't stay lost DM:teleport: I'm determined to track you down when we're there. I always say, "One can never know too many marauders! ":p

Hope you guys are having/had a great time!!! Wish I was there!:p

Sorry, I missed the meet. I was planning on being there at 7:00 PM. But one of my son's friends suddenly needed a ride. We had to drive to Kissimmee to pick him up and then we got lost in Kissimmee while looking for his house. Don't ask me how, but we did. We didn't make it to Universal until 8:10 PM. I hope everyone had a great time. My son was working tonight at ROTM and he thought things went smoothly tonight.

BTW, for those of you who were worried about going a different day than the one on your invitation, don't worry. All you need is you preferred annual pass. No one at the gate checked or even asked if you were there on the right night. There were also no free gifts. :(

They sacrificed the gifts and gave you the DJ, plus the other attractions.

Well, that's my guess as to why...

I wouldn't have been even looking for a gift except that I kept hearing we were getting one on another board. I have never been to a passholder event so I didn't know what to expect.

Anyway, T-10X, a poster on the other board called us at the last minute saying he didn't have a ride. So we went to get him and took the "scenic" route through Kissimmee.

ROTM was great. Everything was working and the lines were moving nicely. You guys did a great job! Also there was some very scary themeing going on! The team members there all seemed really excited to be working there and put on a good show. They made our ride even more enjoyable.

A few highlights. . . . . . .

I arrived at the park at 7:00 pm only to find out that they were making everyone who was there for the evening festivities stay outside the gates (which were closed until 8:00 pm) while all of the day guests were filtered out of the park.

Jimmy Neutron, Shrek, Twister, and Revenge of the Mummy were all open. Monster's Cafe, Finnegans, and a few other shops in the area were open.

The single rider lines was opened and closed sporadically. People were filling it rather than wait in the regular line which went from 15, 45, 75, 90, to 60 minute waits. Shrek, Twister, and Jimmy Neutron were a constant 15 minute wait.

The first time through was 6 minutes from entry to load platform. When I went back outside the line was all the way down to Shrek. Since I was alone I employed a strategy which allowed me to ride 12 times in 90 mins. I think most of you know what that is. I did go through the single rider line once; it took 20 minutes.

They were checking AP's at the ride entrance for a bit and also making sure there were no bags, back-packs, etc. brought on to the ride. A lot of people were mad that they stood in the line approaching ROTM only to be told they needed to put there stuff in a locker.

Several "plus size" guests were upset that there were no test chairs in front of the ride. If there were, they misssed them. I don't believe there are any. Several times I saw people get in the ride and then have to get out due to the restraints. I felt bad for them.

There was a DJ across the street and a large video screen showing the first movie.

Actually there were 2 test chairs out front. Most of the time, I just saw people sitting in them not testing them out.
