Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has been to Universal Mediterranea? Dh and I are thinking of going for a few days in October and wanted to know if it was woth a visit? We were thinking of staying in the Port Avenutura hotel. The price for 4 days (three nights) is working out at £126 for flights (for two not each) and 250 for hotel.

What do you think?

The park is small compared to Florida with a very strong Spanish feel to it.
The shows are in Spanish not dual language as at Disneyland Paris.
Sounds like a good price and the sun in october is always welcome :sunny:

We have been there and stayed in the Hotel Port Aventura all four times. It is fantastic and I'd highlty reccomend it.Your price sounds very reasonable as our trips didn't come cheap :rolleyes1

That sounds like an excellent price, who gave you that quote as we're thinking about visiting there sometime?

Hi Queenie

We actually checked the flights and hotel independantly. The flight price we got with Ryanair from Luton and the hotel price direct from their website.

We took the boys a couple of years ago when DH cancelled trip to Canada due to SARS, we had a great time. We stayed at Port Adventura and our TA booked tickets for us - which we did not need as at the time (don't know if you still do) if you stayed onsite you had length of stay passes included in the hotel rate. Enjoy.

We didn't think much to the theme park tbh but the water park next door (Costa Carribe?) was very nice.
It's worth a visit to see for yourselves though and at the price, even I'd consider going back!

We drove there in Summer 2003 and loved the hotel. We had not booked in advance as we took the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilboa and drove 2,000 miles around Spain, just staying wherever we stopped. We stayed at Port Ventura for a few days. The theme park is nothing at all like Universal Studios in either Orlando or Hollywood. Apparently the parks were taken over by Universal after they were built. When we were there the park stayed open til midnight and really enjoyed the late evenings. There were loads of restaurants to eat in the park too.

Hope you make the right decision for you. Let us know what you do.

Susan
