I booked a trip to Universal a few weeks ago, for Sept 8-11. I called to get the AAA rate of $309 for Hard Rock Club level room.

Today, I got a mailing, a postcard offer from Universal, that had a PIN code. It is for Aug 21-Oct 6, or Nov 27-Dec 22, says rates start at $132, which I assume is a RPH standard room. I called, and the HRH Club rate is $218!! The catch, I need to add a night to the trip. Easy to do, because I booked on Southwest. I bought passes years ago, they are good for up to 7 days, so no problem there, either.

I was surprised to GET the offer, because I already booked at the AAA rate. The mailing comes with a Harry Potter free postcard as well. At first, I thought it was just a "welcome back to Universal" type thing, sent out because of the existing reservation... Then I realized it had a pin code.

yes, you got a pin code.

there is another thread here that homies are saying they got the pin mailed to them also.

congratulations,
pins are our best friend....;)

That is a great rate! How many people are in your party? If I got a PIN for $218 for Club Level...I would be all over that!

It is just me and my daughter this time. she is 19, but not in school for now, she has major surgery coming up on Sept 23. So she wanted a trip before dealing with that...... (she is getting bi-lateral knee replacements)

And of course, we are going on a slow week.

Yeah...we are going in October during (I hope) is a slow week! I ran to the mailbox today to see if I had a postcard. I am going to be diligent on the mail for the next few days! LOL!!!

I think the postcard came from pricing out a trip, but not booking it online. I did not book it online, because I wanted AAA rates.

That HAD to be it, because we have not been to Universal in Florida for at least 5 years.

WOW...i would love to get a pin with rates like that!!!

We havent been to Universal in about 5 years but the other day I got the flyer with the Harry Potter postcard and a pin for 40% select dates starting Aug 21. We weren't planning on a vacation this year but guess what....I couldn't resist and I booked a Portofino Club room for 2 adults and 3 teens for about $230 per night plus taxes. Yeah! (Just keeping fingers crossed we get a room with the pullout sleeper chair).
Also found JetBlue airfare for $80 each way traveling Thurs to Tues at end of August. I am so thrilled with my "deal" that I'm trying not to think about the fact that its still probably going to cost us $3K when its all said and done!
I figure with three teens that eat constantly, the Club room food and drinks will be well worth it. Plus my husband and teen son will be able to use the gym shower.

I got the pin too, and we just went to Universal last month! I'd love to book another trip, but DH says no . . .

Can pins be passed on to someone else? Or is there anyway to try and get one? We are going in December and I would love to have one. I haven't booked yet, maybe I need to do that to up my odds?

I got a pin the other day, and booked a couple rooms for our December trip. I think I got it from registering on the Universal site, and filling out some details about our last trip, and our interest in a future trip. The brochure came within a week. Got rates of $131 for standard, and $199 for a club.

I got this same PIN yesterday. I know I haven't done anything to generate it.:confused3 I did stay onsite last August/Sept and when I was at WDW this past Oct, Dec, and May I ran over there for a day or two each trip. I have an AP. I do currently have WDW trips booked for Sept 10th-18th and Nov 26th-Dec 4th at CSR using the bounce back deal that was in the room when we were at POFQ in May. I haven't called or used the Universal site though. I'm meeting friends at WDW for my Sept trip, so don't want to change that, but am thinking about moving part of my Nov/Dec trip over to Universal.

sorry but pins are not transferable.

I wonder if you can call and ask if there is a PIN attached to your name? I know I have heard of people calling Disney and checking for that. Hmmm...maybe I will make a call today.

I called. NOPE they don't keep that information on file. All you need is the promo code and you can book it. I guess they have some way of tracing if it is your pin code or not. :confused3

:lmao: I was thinking I could click my shining red heels together and get a PIN CODE instead.

I'm looking at mine right now and it says:
'As our past guest we have an offer JUST FOR YOU' (the just for you is capitalized). It says some more stuff then down a little lower is says 'This exclusive rate is only available to you through this special offer. Be sure to mention your UNIQUE OFFER CODE (again those words are capitalized) printed above your name and address'. A little further down it also says 'This special offer is only available for a limited time and can only be booked by calling 1-888-867-4111'. The code on the back is an eight digit code.

Uh oh! I just noticed that it also says 'Save 40% when you stay 4 nights or more'. I had thought about spending just a couple of nights over there at the end of my WDW trip, but it looks like I wouldn't be able to do that. That would put me doing 4 nights at WDW and 4 nights at Universal. I don't need four nights at Universal (only one or two).

:goodvibes Lucky people getting awesome pin codes! Rub your pin code vibes on me! LOL
