I booked a trip to Universal a few weeks ago, for Sept 8-11. I called to get the AAA rate of $309 for Hard Rock Club level room.
Today, I got a mailing, a postcard offer from Universal, that had a PIN code. It is for Aug 21-Oct 6, or Nov 27-Dec 22, says rates start at $132, which I assume is a RPH standard room. I called, and the HRH Club rate is $218!! The catch, I need to add a night to the trip. Easy to do, because I booked on Southwest. I bought passes years ago, they are good for up to 7 days, so no problem there, either.
I was surprised to GET the offer, because I already booked at the AAA rate. The mailing comes with a Harry Potter free postcard as well. At first, I thought it was just a "welcome back to Universal" type thing, sent out because of the existing reservation... Then I realized it had a pin code.

I did stay onsite last August/Sept and when I was at WDW this past Oct, Dec, and May I ran over there for a day or two each trip. I have an AP. I do currently have WDW trips booked for Sept 10th-18th and Nov 26th-Dec 4th at CSR using the bounce back deal that was in the room when we were at POFQ in May. I haven't called or used the Universal site though. I'm meeting friends at WDW for my Sept trip, so don't want to change that, but am thinking about moving part of my Nov/Dec trip over to Universal.
I was thinking I could click my shining red heels together and get a PIN CODE instead.
now I'll hope for the best!
