Universal/IOA 1 day hopper??

Hi - hope you can help.

I have been searching for the gate ticket price for 1 days admittance to either Uiniversal or IOA but can only seem to get a price for the 2 day/2 park - 3rd day free ticket (which does seem very good value)

Can anyone out there tell me the gate price if we turned up on the day without prepurchasing our tickets - and also if you can "hop" between the 2 parks (which I doubt!!)

Would dearly love to spend more than 1 day in the parks but are taking it easy on this trip - first time in the Aug heat with the kids!!!! Plus we went to Universal Studios Hollywood last year (which was awesome)

Spooky - when I grew up we had a brown spotted dalmation called Tosca, she was just the sweetest dog.
