We are considering a 2 or 3 day trip down to Orlando during Spring Break and going to Universal. We've never been. I'm a little confused about the park(s) and how the tickets work b/c it looks like there is more than one park. Any help would be great.

These boards have specific Universal sections if you scroll down on the main menu. Go there for the best info.

There are two parks, and if you want to visit both parks during a single day, you must get a park-to-park ticket or a 3 park unlimited ticket (includes Wet-n-Wild). I get ours from UT, as Universal does not sell the 3 park unlimited at their website or gate.

Both parks have Harry Potter areas, and they are linked via the Hogwarts Express ride. You cannot ride HE unless you have a multi-park ticket as noted above.

Lots of great roller coasters, not a lot of kids' rides (but kids play areas in many parts of the parks).

There is a Universal Section on this board (down below) that has tons of info. There are two separate parks, Universal and Islands of Adventure, separated by the Citywalk area.

Also, if you are there during very busy times, you have the opportunity to buy an Express Pass that lets you bypass the lines. This can run from $59-129 per person. But if you stay at one of the deluxe resorts onsite, you get the EP for free. Cabana Bay (the moderate) does not include this option.

Thank you for your response. I did see that board after I posted this. I didn't realize it was there.
