Hi all. We are considering a trip to Universal the last week of October with our 2 children 9 & 4. We've been there a few times but never at this time of year and I have a few questions. What are the crowds like? Are the Halloween Horror nights a separate ticket? We are NOT planning on taking the kids to this event so we wanted to make sure. Also, wondering if the parks are decked out for halloween with scary type things during the day or does that stuff just come out at night for the halloween event? We're not anti-halloween I just don't want my kiddos (especially the little one) freaked out.

HHN is a hard ticket event and after normal park hours. The only decorations you'll see during the day are the larger props that can not be moved but it's not going to be anything scary. Crowds aren't bad in October but WWoHP will be busy as always.

go during the week.
the weekends will have its crowds.

especially since it is the last weekend for hhn.
many come in the afternoon to the studios side prior to the 5:00 park closing.

We go every year in October since our kids are in year round schools, and we are on break in October. We usually go in the beginning of the month, and the crowds aren't bad, but it isn't slow. You will love the weather and the decorations! Have fun!
