I was wondering if anyone could give me any idea of what crowds will be like the 3rd week of August? We're going to be visiting the area that week and I wanted to see if the crowds would be really bad or if it's a good time to go. Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

It depends if school is in session when you go I would imagine crowd levels would be low and no problem and maybe one of the others that live down there here on the boards could answer that for you but I would think crowds would be low.
Hope this helps :thumbsup2

It's not really a bad time to go but it will still be busy...not overly so but you will still have waits of 25 mins or more for the most popular rides. The parks start closing at 8pm the week of August 18th so it shouldn't be as bad as the week before when the parks close at 10pm. As long as the heat doesn't bother you and you get there early, you can be well on your way to doing both parks. :thumbsup2

we don't mind the heat, we just didn't want to stand in overly long lines. i'm going to get the express passes to help out some. :goodvibes Thanks for your help!!!!!!!

We visited Universal and Islands on two separate days during the week of 8/27-9/2 2007. Neither park was terribly crowded. On our Islands day, we arrived before the park opened and waited at the turnstiles for about 20minutes. Once inside we rode Hulk and Spiderman within the first hour with about a 10-20 minute wait for each. At 1:00 the wait time for Spidey was about an hour, according to the tip board in Suess Landing, but everything else was 10-20 minute waits.

it was great when we were there - we were even bummed that the lines were too short to use of front of the line pass! Seriously, we rode everything over and over.

that's pretty good to hear!! maybe i'll hold off on getting the express passes until the day we're there and see how it goes....

That is probably your best bet!!!:thumbsup2

Wait and see if you need them. IIRC the local schools are all back in session by then.

I was there last year from 8/10-8/26. The first week was still pretty crowded. The second week was busy, but not as bad as the first week was. If you get there early when the park opens none of the lines were bad until about 2 pm.
