Hiya,

we're off to Disney in October and are going to be doing a couple of days at Universal. There are 7 of us going all together and we were considering a night in a universal hotel to get the FOL passes. Have looked on their site for prices but was wondering if anyone knows how to get the price down a bit lol, always looking for a bargain. ANy advice appreciated
:woohoo:

If you have an AA card, you can usually get the AAA discount (think it's around 10%) but you need to phone the hotel for this. If you aren't already a member, there are usually offers via the Quidco cashback site where you can get basic AA membership for less than £10.

However, you will probably have to book 2 rooms for a party of 7 as I think the maximum number of occupants is 5 per room.

Hi Toots82!

If you could give us the details of the dates and how many rooms etc, im sure a few will have a look around for you for a good deal! What price did you get? Not being nosy, just helps to see if we can find something to beat it! :thumbsup2

When I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel last year, the best deal that I got when I shopped around was through greatlatedeals.co.uk! :)

Hi hon,
I wouldn't mind even if u were just being nosy LOL. Anyway, we go on the 7th October for 2 weeks, DD has early BBB on 10th so that's the 9th n 10th out. My niece would like to go to universal horror night so we'd be looking to stay on a night one of those is on <shudder>. I eventually found a price for $250 per room. I'm wondering if it's be cheaper to just book one room and me to stay at disney with my kids as we'd have to book an extra room as WiganTony says for 7 of us....seems pointless as one of the 7 will be just turned one and another will be 4 so neither of them will need FOL passes....so we could have just booked one room for 5 but not all stay. But then this means no saving on taxi fee's.

So, the cast is me, dh, dd (4) ds (will be 1), my mum, my brother and his daughter who's 13.

thanks hon, I appreciate your help :dance3:

If the only reason that you want to stay at Universal is for the FOTL passes, then if I were you, I would consider what it would cost for 2 rooms and then compare what it would cost to purchase the FOTL passes actually in the park (they start from $25.99 per person) and see if it is worth while for you.

The Halloween Horror Nights dates are on this page:

http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/orlando/general_tickets.html

I believe that you would need a separate FOTL pass for HHN, the one that you buy for the park in the day cannot be used at the evenings. The FOTL for HHN are a lot more expensive than during the day too!

Looks like for your dates, you could do the 14th/15th/16th/17th! Just had a quick look on greatlatedeals.co.uk for all of those dates and cant seem to see any availability for 2 rooms on there, I know quite a few people look on other websites for cheap hotel deals, im not too sure what they are, I tend to stick to that one! Hopefully someone else will come along and help you out hotel price wise and then you could compare what your best options are!

Hope this helps a little! :goodvibes

In 6 years of staying at Universal, booking direct has always been the best option and price.
And if rates reduce you can phone and get it reduced to that rate.
Triple A varies depending on hotel occupancy, have seen it as low as 8% and as high as 30%, but i personally always keep checking hotel rates up till i leave for the USA. They only have a limited amount of TripleA rooms and Annual Pass rooms available ,not every room is discounted.
i personally would not recommend anyone to stay a Fri Sat or Sun nights, as the hotels are crowded at the weekends, and a lot do not leave till Sun night, so personally from experience i would suggest a midweek stay.
Nothing showing on AAA site for RPR but for Oct 17th, so maybe all rooms sold its showing $276 for PBH and $274 for HRH.If you do not book i would say to keep watching the rates, although HHN is usually a busy time
my advice would be to call reservations and see what they are quoting

thanks folks,

my mum called n they were saying the dates for HHN hadn't been released yet lol, will keep checking prices for the dates the HHN is on n hopefully get booked soon :)

Ooops, my mistake, very sorry! Just looked at the link I posted and despite looking for 2011 dates for sooooo long, I thought I had finally stumbled across the dates for this year! Anyway.....just compared the dates on a calender and yes, the ones I posted are for 2010! :upsidedow

Your best bet is to probably wait for them dates before making your decision and post back and let us help you look for rates when your date is decided! :thumbsup2
